    Abstract: A door closer device for connection between a door leaf and a door frame serves to automatically close the door after opening. The device has a housing that is received in the door leaf and a chain have one end connected inside the housing and the other end connected to the door frame. A spring connects the chain to the housing and serves to urge the chain into the housing bore. The chain links are pivotally connected plates with opposed side edges arranged such that a side edge of a link faces a corresponding side edge of an adjacent link. Each side edge defines a first portion and a second portion. The facing first portions of adjacent links are adapted to come into abutment when the links are arranged such that the longitudinal axis of the chain extends substantially in a straight line so as to prevent the links from pivoting in a first direction. The facing second portions of adjacent links are adapted to come into abutment when the links are pivoted in a second direction opposite to the first direction such that the articulation is limited and the links describe a line that substantially follows an arc.

    Abstract: A door or window operator includes a motor-driven double-chain operator with two chain members in a substantially closed operator housing separately in engagement with a rotating drive member and joined in a back-to-back arrangement. The chain members allow a mutual displacement between neighboring links in the direction of the rotational axes and the separate chain paths extend only in a part of the housing in a plane common with the outlet openings.

    Abstract: An adapter unit for mechanically driven doors of the type such as garage doors are driven by a motor and guided at the sides thereof by guide rails mounted to a frame that defines the door opening. The adapter unit comprises an elongated member adapted to be mounted to the back side of the door receiving channel of one of the guide rails. The elongated member defines an elongated inverted U-shaped channel in which a chain is slidably received. A sprocket is rotatably mounted in the elongated member within a circular recess defined in the channel for engagement with the chain. The sprocket is further adapted to centrally engage a shaft of the motor to thus rotate therewith. A door drive mechanism is mounted at one end of the chain and is adapted to be removably coupled to a bracket provided on an inner lower part of the door. The sprocket and chain are adapted to remain engaged between the two extreme positions of the chain which correspond with the open and closed positions of the door. Therefore, upon actuation of the motor, the chain is displaced in the channel thereby causing movement of the door as it is linked thereto by the door drive mechanism engaged in the bracket.
