Abstract:
Method and apparatus for apportionment includes compressing a paste in an apportioning chamber and thereafter delivering the paste towards a nipple after opening of a blocking element, the volume apportioning of the amount of paste to be distributed being undertaken by measuring the displacement of a piston in the apportioning chamber during delivery. The method and apparatus ensure that the apportioning chamber is placed under low pressure so as to facilitate introduction of the paste and delivery of the paste at a fast speed and then at a slow speed.

A control system for controlling a direct current powered motor in which the direct current voltage, which may not be constant, is reversibly commutated across the coil or winding of the motor during the predetermined commutation time intervals and chopped at high frequency during each commutation time interval by a variable duty cycle, pulse width modulated voltage, in which the width of each voltage pulse, determined by a reference voltage, is varied as an inverse function of the magnitude of the direct current voltage which exists during each voltage pulse interval.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser with a fluid pump for dispensing fluid on movement of an actuator, and an air pump for delivering a stream of air through at least one sound generator on movement of the actuator. The sound generator produces at least two sounds as the actuator is moved from a first position to a second position, with each sound produced in a different time period during a cycle of operation, or differing from the other sound in respect of one or more detectable sound characteristics, such as duration, frequency, temporal alignment, amplitude, and/or timbre. The time period of each sound is a function of the relative location of the actuator between the first and second positions.
Abstract:
A control method and system for a resonant linear compressor applied for controlling the capacity of a cooling system. The method includes: a) reading a reference operation power (Pref) of the motor of the compressor; b) measuring an operation current (iMED); c) measuring an operation voltage of a control module of the compressor; d) calculating an input power (PMED) of the motor as a function of the operation current (iMED) and of the operation voltage; e) comparing the input power (PMED) with the reference operation power (Pref); f) if the reference operation power (Pref) is higher than the input power (PMED), then increase an operation voltage of the compressor (UC); g) if the reference operation power (Pref) is lower than the input power (PMED), then decrease the operation voltage of the compressor (UC).

Abstract:
A fluid compressor for compressing fluids and a method for operating the same are provided. The fluid compressor includes a compression chamber with an inlet for the fluid and an outlet for compressed fluid. The fluid compressor further includes a piston disposed within the compression chamber. The fluid compressor includes a driving system that includes piezoelectric actuator configured to cause displacement of the piston in the compression chamber. The driving system further includes an amplifying element that is coupled to the piezoelectric actuator in the direction of the movement of the piston to enhance the displacement of the piston caused by the piezoelectric actuator. One end of the amplifying element is fixed to a base of the fluid compressor and the piezoelectric actuator is disposed between the amplifying element and the piston.

The present invention relates to a system and method of controlling a linear compressor (10), which is capable of fine-tuning the compressor when necessary, throughout the operating period of the compressor, so that said compressor operates at maximum capacity, wherein the piston (1) achieves a maximum displacement amplitude, closely approaching the cylinder head (2) without colliding with it. The system and the method according to the invention are also intended to control the operation of the linear compressor throughout its operating period, also seeking to maximize its performance and to reduce or optimize its power consumption. According to the present invention, the fine-tuning and control of the operation of the linear compressor are carried out by means of the combination of a technique for controlling a compressor without a sensor, and a technique for controlling the compressor with the aid of a sensor.
