摘要: A fallback prevention valve apparatus, system and method is described. An electric submersible pump (ESP) fallback prevention system includes an ESP assembly positioned in a downhole well, the ESP assembly including production tubing extending between a centrifugal pump and a surface of the downhole well such that during operation of the ESP assembly production fluid flows upward from the centrifugal pump through the production tubing to the surface, the production tubing including a fallback valve actuatable by the flow of production fluid, the fallback valve actuatable between an open position, wherein production fluid flowing upward through the fallback valve actuates the fallback valve into the open position, and a closed position, wherein production fluid flowing downward through the fallback valve actuates the fallback valve into the closed position, the closed position blocking sand carried by the production fluid from falling into the centrifugal pump.

摘要: A two-phase liquid-gas flow system for testing electrical submersible pumps (ESP) includes an oil pump, a water pump, an oil storage tank, a water storage tank, a pressurized air system, an air pressure regulator (PR), and a transparent test section with the ESP. The pressurized air system includes air storage tanks, compressors, and air flow meters (AFM). The oil pump and the water pump supply oil and water from the oil storage tank and the water storage tank through an oil flow meter and a water flow meter, respectively, to the transparent test section. The air storage tanks are in fluid communication with the PR by valves, which channel air through the PR and the AFMs to the transparent test section. A camera is provided to capture photos and videos of flow patterns of the working fluid in the transparent test section.

摘要: A method of operating a system (16) for pumping a fluid, which system comprises a pump (17) comprising a suction side (18) and a discharge side (19); a motor (20) for driving the pump, which motor is drivingly connected to the pump via a shaft; a recirculation conduit (23) providing a fluid path for the fluid from the discharge side to the suction side of the pump; and a control valve controlling the flow of the fluid through the recirculation conduit, which method comprises the steps of: mapping a plurality of minimum torque diagrams for the pump, where each minimum torque diagram identifies the minimum allowable torque of the pump as a function of an operational parameter of the pump, e.g. the differential pressure over the pump; from said plurality of minimum torque diagrams, identifying the minimum torque diagram best representing the current operation of the pump; monitoring said operational parameter of the pump and, from the minimum torque diagram best representing the current operation of the pump, identifying a minimum allowable torque value corresponding to a monitored value of said operational parameter of the pump, e.g. a monitored differential pressure value; monitoring the torque of the pump and comparing a monitored torque value with the identified minimum allowable torque value; and regulating the control valve such that the monitored torque value does not fall below the minimum allowable torque value. A corresponding pumping system is also disclosed.

摘要: A hydraulic valve device includes a first inlet port (20) and a second inlet port (22) and a valve element (24) for selectively closing one of the first and the second inlet port. The valve element (24; 24′) is rotatable between two valve positions such that a surface of the valve element is moved in a direction parallel to openings of the inlet ports. The valve element includes two separate sealing portions (72, 74), a first sealing portion (72) for closing the first inlet port and a second sealing portion (74) for closing the second inlet port. The two sealing portions are arranged such that in a first valve position a first sealing portion closes the first inlet port and in a second valve position a second sealing portion closes the second inlet port. A centrifugal pump device includes such hydraulic valve device.
