摘要: Multistage gas turbine engine (GTE) compressors having optimized stall enhancement feature (SEF) configurations are provided, as are methods for the production thereof. The multistage GTE compressor includes a series of axial compressor stages each containing a rotor mounted to a shaft of a gas turbine engine. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps or processes of selecting a plurality of engine speeds distributed across an operational speed range of the gas turbine engine, identifying one or more stall limiting rotors at each of the selected engine speeds, establishing an SEF configuration in which SEFs are integrated into the multistage GTE compressor at selected locations corresponding to the stall limiting rotors, and producing the multistage GTE compressor in accordance with the optimized SEF configuration.

摘要: A system for detecting deformation of a fan for an aeroengine, the fan including a rotor including plural blades made of composite material including woven fibers. At least one of the fibers in each of the blades is an optical fiber including at least one portion defining a Bragg grating. The system further includes a transceiver connected to the optical fiber and configured to send an optical signal into the optical fiber and to receive an optical signal in response from the optical fiber, and a detector module connected to the transceiver to detect deformation of the fan when the received optical signal presents correlation with a predetermined signature of a damped impact on a blade at a determined speed of rotation. This deformation may be the result of a foreign object impacting against a blade of the fan or may follow from variation in an internal defect.

摘要: A system and method for controlling bending modes of a rotor assembly is disclosed. The rotor assembly can be supported by one or more bearings in an integrated machine. The method can include accelerating the rotor assembly to a first rotational speed via a first torsional force applied to the drive shaft and then removing the first torsional force. The method can also include obtaining first measurements of the rotational speed and frequency of one or more bending modes of the rotor assembly during a first rotary machine coast down period from the first rotational speed. The process can be repeated to determine a relationship between rotational speed, bending mode frequency, and gain. The one or more bearings can then be controlled based on the measurements and the relationship. The system can have one or more processors or controllers to implement the method.

摘要: A unit for inflating an inflatable object includes a first sub-system for initially inflating the inflatable object and a second sub-system for automatically adding air to the inflatable object when the air pressure within the object falls below a predetermined threshold after inflation. The air pressure within the inflatable object is monitored and measured by an electric pressure sensor that communicates with a PC circuit board. The unit allows air into and out of the inflatable object using a solenoid configured to open and close a valve. The first and second sub-systems are both contained within the same housing affixed to the inflatable object and use the same solenoid and valve to add air into the inflatable object.

摘要: A system for controlling operation of first and second electric fans is provided. The system includes a microcontroller that determines when first analog multiplexer is malfunctioning or a first channel of the first analog-to-digital converter is malfunctioning based on first values obtained from the first analog-to-digital converter. The first values are associated with at least one of a first speed signal associated with the first electric fan and a first driving voltage for the first electric fan that are received by the first analog multiplexer. The microcontroller modifies a control signal to induce the second electric fan to operate at a higher rotational speed when the first analog multiplexer is malfunctioning or the first channel of the first analog-to-digital converter is malfunctioning.
