    Abstract: A sheet of book index tabs has a backing with a release coating and a plurality of index tabs on the backing sheet separated from each other by die-cut lines. Each index tab has a transparent film layer and transparent pressure sensitive adhesive which is temporarily attached to the release coating. Each tab has a centrally located, substantially opaque band of ink extending across the tab. Stripes of dark ink are printed along each edge of the band with each stripe being an equal distance from the adjacent edge of the tab. A score line on the bottom of the backing is centered opposite the center of the band of ink to facilitate creasing of the backing and index tab. The tab takes a permanent set along the crease and separates from the release coating along the set to facilitate peeling from the backing. Upon folding the index tab along the crease, the dark stripes are superimposed for placement along the edge of a document page as an aid to alignment. Preprinted indicia are included on each side of the center line of the inked band so that after placement on a page, the indicia may be read from either face of the index tab.

    Abstract: A continuous label paper with a number of tractor-feed transfer holes formed with equal spacings along both lateral ends of a release sheet, and unit label sheets, partitioning a certain number of label pieces, are detachably mounted on the release sheet with equal spacings in the longitudinal direction. The label unit sheets have edges which are spaced from the portions with transfer holes on the release sheet. A method to prepare the continuous label paper from continuous paper detachably mounted on the release sheet by simultaneously removing unnecessary portions of the continuous paper outside each unit label sheet.

    Abstract: A computer carrier strip having perforated feed is slit longitudinally and a label price tag strip having a gummed back is adhered to the computer strip, after which the strips are perforated to form tear lines, and cutouts are made to make a composite strip form carrying T-shaped label-price tag sheets connected together by perforated tear lines only at the tops and bottoms of the labels and with the price tag portions separated by the cutouts and connected to the labels only by perforated tear or fold lines superimposed along the slit along the computer strip. A computer prints the names, addresses, contents of shipping cartons on the labels and prices on the price tags. Then, when a carton having merchandise therein is to be shipped, the label for that carton is peeled from the backing strip and carries with it the price tag portion and the portion of the backing strip under the price tag portion. The price tag portion, with its backing strip portion, is folded back under the central portion of the label leaving adhesive upper and lower portions which are pressed against the carton. Then, when the carton reaches its destination and is opened, the user tears the label, with the price tags and backing strip portion from the carton, and removes the gummed price tags as needed. Other computer strips have the labels slit completely from each other, and in one of these computer strips, each label has one corner cut out to facilitate peeling the adjacent label.

    Abstract: A dual label combination is provided. The label combination includes a label substrate, and the label substrate is die cut with at least three separate labels.
