Abstract:
A system and method is provided for use in connection with delivering content that is targeted to users of a broadcast network. In order to select content that is targeted to users of the broadcast network, signals are received from a plurality of customer premise equipment devices (CPEs) of the network users via a broadcast network interface. Based on the received signals, broadcast assets (e.g., programming, advertisements etc.) are selected from a collection of available asset options. Accordingly, at least a portion of the selected assets are inserted into a content stream of the broadcast network. Once the content stream is broadcast over a broadcast network interface, at least a portion of the selected assets area available for receipt by at least a portion of the CPEs. The CPEs generate reports regarding assets delivered such that asset providers can be billed based on guaranteed targeted impressions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system comprising a control centre (45), a network of master emitters (60) and a park of radio broadcasting receivers (30) which are remotely configured. The control centre (45) send the master emitters (60), via any means such a the Internet (46), encoded digital information which is combined with the signals peculiar to the emitters and which is sent from the emitters to the receivers (30). The aforementioned digital information contains configuration information for the receivers (30) as well as other data. The configuration information is used to assign broadcast tuning to the channels of each receiver (30), said channels being enabled to listen to determined frequencies corresponding to the radio broadcasting emitters operating in the environment of the receiver (30). The rest of the digital information is intended to be viewed on a display device (24) of the receiver (30). The receivers (30) receive said encoded digital information in a continuous manner.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a broadcast data receiver which is able to easily receive information about predetermined person. An address book 120 holds the personal identifying information for identifying person. The BML document extracting section 150 extracts the BML document described by the BML from the broadcast data. The personal information searching section 160 obtains the correspondence personal identifying information corresponding to the personal identifying information held by the address book 120 from the BML document.
Abstract:
A method of managing digital satellite content for delivery to a target fleet is provided. At least one member of the target fleet is identified. Digital satellite content to be transmitted is determined and addressed to the identified member of the target fleet. The digital satellite content is then transmitted. A system and computer program for managing digital satellite content are also provided.
Abstract:
A system and method for the creation and automatic deployment of personalized, dynamic and interactive voice services, including information derived from on-line analytical processing (OLAP) systems and other data repositories is disclosed. The system and method includes the ability to deploy personalized voice services through a live or recorded personalized broadcast. In particular, the system and method access personalized information and generate personalized markup documents from the personalized information. The personalized markup document is converted to a form that is suitable for over-air transmission and transmitted to a subscriber of the voice service.
Abstract:
At least a first image, such as a motion video image, is prepared for integration with at least a second image, such as a motion video image and/or a still image. The first image may be a barker, and the second image may be a menu or programming guide. To prepare the first image for integration, a first compressed image is formed, restricted to a first region of a first image area by representing at least one segment of a first image within the first region with a reference to another segment of the first image within the first region. The second image may also be prepared for integration by forming a second compressed image. The second compressed image may be restricted to a second region of a second image area by representing at least one segment of the second image within the second region with a reference to another segment of the second image within the second region. The first and second images are combined by selecting a portion of the first compressed image, selecting a portion of the second compressed image, and combining the selected portions to form an integrated image.
Abstract:
A system for granting permission of a user's personal information to a third party includes a terminal unit for entering a personal information of a user and a permission information indicating at least one permissible use of the personal information of the user by a third party, for storing the personal information and the permission information entered, for receiving from the third party an item in accordance with the permission information stored therein from the third party, and an information management unit electrically connected to the terminal unit for managing the personal information and the permission information stored in the terminal unit, for evaluating the personal information stored therein in accordance with the permission information stored therein if an access to the personal information is requested from the third party, and for providing to the third party the requested personal information if the access to the requested personal information is permissible in accordance with a result of the evaluation.
Abstract:
An information system provides selected information to individual users. A high speed digital program signal is broadcast and contains program data that begins at a reference time and is repeated at set intervals. A separate index signal contains a receiver identifier, reference time, program interval information, and program signal tuning information. The user's receiver monitors the index signal. When the receiver detects the correct identifier, the receiver downloads and stores the reference time and tuning information. The receiver then uses the stored reference time and tuning information to receive, download, store, and output the user's selected program. In some embodiments a transceiver replaces the receiver to allow the user to make program requests. Program requests are relayed to a service center using a conventional wireless communications system.
Abstract:
User interface systems access media data stored in a database through a server that presents to the interface a selection menu for selecting media data. Upon selection of media data the server accesses the data from the database and transmits it to an in-room system. The media data may be transmitted by downloading the data to an intermediate system, playing the data at the intermediate system and outputting the data to the in-room system through a communications line. The media data may also be transmitted by streaming the data to the in-room system through a communications line. The server may present to the in-room system a purchase menu through which media data may be purchased, an activation menu through which communication between the in-room system and the server may be established for a fixed period of time and a radio menu through which programmed media-data channels may be accessed.
Abstract:
Proper data is selected from a plurality of data which are multiplexed and transmitted to download the proper data. The maker and model of a receiver and the version of a control program are stored in a load section as a maker ID, a model ID, and a version ID. The section number and the total number of sections are also stored. It is checked whether the maker ID and the model ID coincide with those stored in the ROM of the receiver to check whether the version number is newer than that of the control program of the receiver. Therefore, it can be checked whether the program should be downloaded. With reference to the list of section numbers which have been downloaded, it can be found whether a program divided into a plurality of sections to be transmitted is completely downloaded. With reference to the list of section numbers and the total number of sections, the progress state of downloading can be known.
