Provided is a printing system for installation in a vehicle for providing hard-copies from a digital camera. The printing system includes a wireless communications subsystem for receiving wireless image information from a camera, and a layout engine with rasterization and page compression modules linked to a printer controller. The printer controller controls a printer having a chassis with a top cover defining an access opening for receiving a cartridge, said opening closed off by a spring-biased flap, and a printhead housed in the chassis. The printer also includes a printed circuit board (PCB) mounted in the chassis with control circuitry linking the controller to the printer controller to control the printhead.
Abstract:
A system and method for managing documents within a shared peripheral includes a network-based document management system. A document management module of defines a bookmark or symbolic link to a document stored inside or outside a document management module repository. The symbolic link is treated analogously to other documents managed by the document management module. Upon linking to a document networked, the system enables users to download a document stored in the repository to devices including a local machine or network hard drive.

Abstract:
A method starts when a print job is received from a workstation. The print job includes user printing options and an identification of an initial printer. The method ranks the abilities of the available printers to process the print job to identify the best printer for the print job according to, among other items, printer proximity. If the initial printer identification creates a print policy violation, the method presents a question/statement to the workstation (to the user through the workstation) regarding whether the print job should be redirected to the best printer and provides an automated resubmit option at the workstation. If the resubmit option is activated, the method automatically submits the print job to a different available printer, without requiring the user to manually input the printing options.

Methods and system for transferring images between devices is disclosed. For example, differently scaled images by a host device may automatically and/or selectively be transferred to a media player for display. In turn, appropriately scaled images may be transferred automatically and/or selectively to another display device for example a TV, camera or printer. The selectivity may occur either at the host level or at the player level.

A method of operating a portable composite communication terminal the functions as both a portable phone and a camera. The method includes: setting a portable phone mode by turning on the portable composite communication terminal, regulating voltage supporting components of the portable phone mode, and performing a general portable phone function; setting a camera mode by turning on the camera in said portable phone mode upon user request for camera operation, said user request being input through a camera mode switch and processed by the controller, regulating voltage supporting components of the camera mode, and performing a camera function; capturing the image of an object upon user request for a photograph in the camera mode; and displaying a captured image stored in a camera memory of the portable composite communication terminal on a display of the portable composite communication terminal upon user request for displaying the image.

Embodiments of the invention relate generally to computing devices and systems, as well as software, computer programs, applications, and user interfaces, and more particularly, to provisioning electronic fax messages in a communication network including packetized and/or synchronous communications. According to one embodiment, a messaging can receive data representing an electronic document in a file format into a messaging system, convert fax components to a fax compatible format including the electronic document in the file format to form converted fax components, determine whether to generate an electronic facsimile to include the fax components as a pre-rendered electronic facsimile, and transmit the electronic facsimile as the pre-rendered electronic facsimile.

The subject application is directed to a system and method for device-directed processing of remote desktop documents. A controller functionally integrated with a document processing device is first connected with remote workstations via a computer network. An electronic document is received from one of the workstations having an associated document identifier. Identification data is then received from an associated user via a user interface associated with the controller. A received electronic document is associated with the received identification data according to the associated identifier. A workstation is then identified based upon such association. Active document data is then received representing active electronic documents on each of the workstations. Indicia is generated on a display associated with the user interface corresponding to the received active document data. Selection data is received corresponding to a selected electronic document. A document processing operation is then commenced according to the received selection data.

An image data processing apparatus, increase: a reader that reads image data included in an image file in read units of a specified data length from an external storage medium storing the image file; a storage that temporarily saves the image data read by the reader; and a data processor that requests image data to the reader and applying a specified data processing to the image data given from the reader in response to the request; wherein the reader reads image data requested by the data processor from the storage and supplies them to the data processor and, if the image data requested by the data processor cannot be read from the storage, reads image data of a specified data length including the image data from the storage medium and supplies them to the data processor, and the reader optimizes the read unit according to the form of the request from the data processor.
