That housing structure surrounding the hydrostatic transmission defining a first internal volume containing the hydrostatic transmission components and providing a receptacle for the hydrostatic fluid. That housing structure surrounding the gear transmission defining a gear compartment sump. As one example, the housing structure surrounding the hydrostatic transmission may further define a second internal volume to operate as an overflow receiver for fluid transferred from the first internal volume. A duct operating in accordance with the siphon principle connects the internal volumes and where a pressure restriction valves ensures an above ambient pressure level in the volumes when the hydrostatic and gear transmission is operating. Alternatively, the gear compartment sump may act as the second internal volume.

    摘要: To provide a motive-power transmission device for a vehicle including a torque converter, a gearbox, and a clutch for cutting off the transmission of motive power between the input shaft of the gearbox and the turbine of the torque converter. The gearbox is accommodated in the crankcase, and the motive-power transmission device is compact in the axial direction of the crankshaft. A motive-power transmission device for a vehicle includes the crankshaft and the input shaft of the gearbox journaled freely rotatably in the crankcase, their axes being parallel to each other; the torque converter is mounted on one end portion of the crankshaft; and the clutch is separated along the axial direction of the crankshaft from the torque converter and so mounted on one end portion of the input shaft that part of the clutch overlaps the torque converter as seen in the axial direction of the crankshaft.

    摘要: A transmission for a vehicle has a pair of input shafts and an output shaft parallel to the input shafts. A plurality of drive gears is installed on the input shafts, and a plurality of driven gears are installed on the output shaft and meshed with the drive gears, respectively. Gear selecting mechanisms is provided respectively on the shifting input shafts to select one of the drive gears. A power transmitting mechanism is installed to the input and output shafts to transmit power from one of the input shafts to the other input shaft. First and second clutches are installed to the input shafts, respectively to fix the drive gears on the input shafts by the engagement thereof. An idler gear driven by the power transmitting mechanism is installed to the output shaft. A third clutch installed to the output shaft as to be capable of fixedly connecting the output shaft and the idler gear.

    摘要: A modular hydrostatic transaxle includes an axle module removably connected to a hydrostatic transmission module. The axle module includes a differential connected to a reduction gear train and disposed in an axle casing. A pair of axles are connected to the differential and supported within the axle casing. The hydrostatic transmission module comprises a transmission casing separate from the axle casing and hydraulically connected pump and motor disposed in the transmission casing. The motor output connection includes a shaft piloted to an input drive of the reduction gear train, which constitutes the alignment mechanism of the transmission and axle modules. The pump and motor cylinder barrels are hydraulically connected through the pump and motor block at 90° orientation, and a portion of the pump and motor block forms an inclined surface which supports a face of a thrust bearing. At least one homogeneous low friction bearing strip is confined between the swash plate and the interior portion of the casing. A disconnect mechanism includes a spring that urges a sleeve to engage the output and input shafts. The brake disc is disposed on a distal end of the output shaft and a brake cover is fastened to the outer portion of the axle casing and substantially encloses the brake disc.
