摘要： A system for cutting blocks of cheese or other food product into chunks includes conveyors for moving the blocks along an automated, continuous, in-line processing path. A block cutter cuts the blocks longitudinally and or vertically to provide one or more stacks of slabs which are destacked by a vacuum transfer apparatus. A transverse cutter cuts the individual slabs to create chunks of cheese or other food product. The conveyors include a stack conveyor located in the processing path for conveying successive stacks of slabs from the block cutter to the product destacking apparatus in succession, and a slab conveyor located in the processing path for conveying successive slabs from the product destacking apparatus to the transverse cutter. A trim cutting module includes a rotating mechanism that rotates a block during the trim operation, allowing trim to drop to a trim disposal conveyance.

摘要： An apparatus for trimming printed products which includes a drum with a plurality of radially displaced receiving compartments. The printed products which are to be trimmed rest, along their folded edges, against stops which form the base of the radial receiving compartments. The products are gripped by a displacement device and displaced radially outwards into a cutting position. In the cutting position, the printed products are clamped in the region of their side border located opposite the fold edge. When the clamped printed products run past a stationary cutter element, the printed products are trimmed on the side border. After completion of the cutting operation, the clamping of the printed products is released and the displacement device is moved by a further distance radially outwards. Consequently, the trimmed printed products are advanced into a removal position, in which they are gripped by grippers of a removal conveyor. The controlled advancement of the printed products both into the cutting position and into the removal position ensures that the printed products can be trimmed and received by the grippers of the removal conveyor in precisely defined positions along the printed products.

摘要： A machine for cutting a generally oblong, compressed bale of hay or forage into a plurality of elongated sub-sections, is disclosed. The machine has an inlet for moving compressed bales into an adjoining sawing section and through a passageway having a first and second series of saws arranged transversely for progressively cutting the bale at a series of vertical and horizontal planes to form the hay sub-sections. The cut sub-sections are caused to fall on a conveyor belt which dispenses them from the end of an outlet chute. The sawing of the bale minimizes leaf and fibre damage, and the cut subsections of hay readily break apart to make them easily consumable by livestock.

摘要： The invention is directed to a system for peeling an object having a generally soft interior portion surrounded by a generally hard external surface, where the system is suitable for use by consumers or in areas with consumers. According to one aspect of the invention, the apparatus of the invention includes a knife means for removing the hard external surface from the object, leaving substantially the soft interior portion. The apparatus also includes a housing enclosing the knife means to protect consumers or an operator of the apparatus from the knife means. The housing has two openings, one for receiving the object and one for discharging the soft interior portion after the object has been peeled.For some objects to be peeled, such as pineapples, the hard external surface of the object has two end portions and an intermediate body portion. According to another aspect of the invention, the apparatus of the invention includes a first knife means and means for grappling the object and rotating it towards the first knife means for severing the two end portions of the external surface. The apparatus also includes a second knife means and means for urging the object towards the second knife means to sever the intermediate body portion of the external surface.

A gap formed between the work table of the first saw and the roller rows enables trim waste to fall from the support table, and the grate mechanism is pivotally mounted for reciprocal movement between the support table and the roller rows during which it bridges the gap therebetween.

摘要： The present invention provides a machine and method wherein envelopes are removed from a supply hopper, one by one, and then transmitted to a plurality of sequentially disposed cutting stations wherein one end edge of the envelope is first severed, and thereafter an adjacent side edge of the envelope is severed. The envelope with two adjacent edges thus severed is transmitted to a processing station at which the envelope is opened and held open by suction cups, for removal of contents by an operator. The envelope is thereafter transmitted to a detector station to confirm content removal and then to a recovery station, and then to a point of discharge. Means is provided for adjusting the opening of the suction cups at the processing station, and stop means is provided for positioning the envelope as it reaches the processing station. The envelope is transmitted toward the processing station in horizontal disposition, and in one form of the invention at the processing station it is repositioned into angular disposition prior to the gripping action of the suction cups.
