    摘要: A conventional watchdog timer circuit is arranged to judge a microcomputer to be normal as long as a pulse signal is being outputted from the microcomputer. Therefore, an abnormal condition cannot be detected when an operating frequency of the microcomputer lowers, for example. As a solution, the watchdog timer circuit is provided with a function for detecting the frequency. If the frequency of the pulse signal deviates from a predetermined frequency range, a reset signal is outputted indicating that the microcomputer is abnormal, even if the pulse signal is being outputted. A solenoid-operated gate valve is thereby closed to stop the supply of gas to a gas burner.

    摘要: An energy conversion system which comprises a solid fuel fed combustor system having a first chamber portion with an inlet feed for feeding a metered amount of a solid fuel thereto, a first burner stage having a first traveling conveyor firebelt, a metered amount of air introduced in progressively increasing proportions along the length of the first traveling conveyor. A second burner stage having a second traveling conveyor firebelt with air introduced in a progressively decreasing amount along the length of said second traveling conveyor firebelt and a controller for controlling air introduced to the system. The chamber has a sloped common roof section common to the burner stages and is made of radiative energy reflective fire brick and angled to reflect radiative energy generated from fuel traveling on the traveling conveyor firebelts and directing the radiative energy on fuel traveling on the first firebelt. The air introduced is controlled in amounts so as to automatically minimize excess air to the firebelt conveyors to minimize the quantity of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides and other pollutants.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an ignition control system that dynamically adjusts the warm-up time of an igniter within a predetermined range depending on the success or failure of the previous ignition or start-up cycle. The system activates the igniter and waits a predetermined or computed warm-up time. At the end of the warm-up time, the system opens a gas valve. The system then waits a preset time from the opening of the gas valve to determine whether ignition was successful or not. If the ignition was successful, the system computes a new igniter warm-up time by decrementing the current time and stores this new value for use during the next start sequence. If the ignition was unsuccessful, the system computes a new warm-up time by incrementing the current value and retrying the start sequence. Preferably, a successful ignition is always determined by checking for the presence of flame a fixed time following the opening of the gas valve.

    摘要: A fuel oil supply circuit that includes two bypass mechanisms for burner startup including an electrical valve bypass in parallel circuit with a mechanical valve bypass. The fuel oil supply circuit includes an oil pump that is adapted to pressurize fuel oil and a downstream regulating valve assembly that is adapted to regulate pressurized fuel flow to the nozzles of the burner. A solenoid valve controls flow of pressurized fuel oil through the regulating valve assembly to the nozzles. The solenoid valve has a first state keeping the regulating valve assembly closed, and a second state allowing the regulating valve assembly to open. A diaphragm valve is fluidically connected to the pump in parallel circuit with the regulating piston assembly to provide an alternative bypass mechanism as a backup for the electrical solenoid valve.
