摘要: A system and method for control of perceived brightness level in a display device based on the brightness of individual content items to provide a consistent viewing experience. This is a method of visual content-based brightness control. Adjusting the perceived display of individual visual content items does not rely on the adjustment of a display device's settings or controls, such as a general setting to control the brightness of a display screen, but rather evaluates the visual content being presented and adjusts the presentation layers for display of the visual content provided as part of the display screen. In this way, adjusting parameter(s) of one or more of these presentation layers provides control over the brightness level of the displayed content as a function of the brightness of the content.

摘要: A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a display panel driver, and a zone compensating circuit which divides the display panel into a plurality of unit blocks, obtains load values of input image data for the unit blocks, and generates corrected image data by correcting the input image data based on the load values. Each of the load values corresponds to one of the unit blocks. The display panel driver generates a data signal for displaying an image on the display panel based on the corrected image data. When grayscale values included in the input image data are the same, a luminance of the image displayed on the display panel is decreased moving away from a center of a reference block having a largest load value among the unit blocks based on the corrected image data.

摘要: A compensation system includes a processor configured to determine compensated data for display on a sub-pixel of the display device. The processor may receive image data configured to be displayed on the sub-pixel, convert the gray level data to first voltage data; fetch, from a memory, compressed 1×1 sub-pixel uniformity compensation data for the sub-pixel, and decompress the compressed 1×1 sub-pixel uniformity compensation data via a decompressor. The decompressed data comprises the 1×1 sub-pixel uniformity compensation data for the sub-pixel. The processor may also determine a voltage compensation offset value associated with the sub-pixel based on the second voltage data, generate compensated voltage data based in part on the voltage compensation offset value and the first voltage data, convert the compensated voltage data to compensated gray level data; and transmit the compensated gray level data to pixel driving circuitry associated with the sub-pixel.

摘要: An electronic device may have a display with an array of pixels. The device may have an array of components such as an array of light sensors for capturing fingerprints of a user through an array of corresponding transparent windows in the display. A capacitive touch sensor, proximity sensor, force sensor, or other sensor may be used by control circuitry in the device to monitor for the presence of a user's finger over the array of light sensors. In response, the control circuitry can direct the display to illuminate a subset of the pixels, thereby illuminating the user's finger and causing reflected light from the finger to illuminate the array of light sensors for a fingerprint capture operation. The display may have display driver circuitry that facilitates the momentary illumination of the subset of pixels with uniform flash data while image data is displayed in other portions of the display.

Provided is a display apparatus that includes a signal processing section, a panel section, and a vibration section. The signal processing section processes a video image signal and a sound signal. The vibration section is arranged on a back face side of the panel section and vibrates the panel section according to the sound signal. The signal processing section calculates a correction value for suppressing an amount of light emitted by the panel section on the basis of the sound signal and controls a level of the video image signal on the basis of the calculated correction value. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a television receiver.-
