    摘要: A cassette for a wedge-shaped ink well of a printing machine has a bottom and a rear wall and two side walls. A front of the cassette, opposite the rear wall, faces a duct roller of the printing machine when the cassette is inserted into the ink well and is open. A handle connected to the upper portions of the side walls is positioned such that the cassette tends to incline to prevent ink from flowing out of the front of the cassette when the cassette is handled outside of the printing machine. The bottom and the sides of the cassette are sealed against the ink well adjacent to the duct roller. A seating arrests movement of the cassette relative to the ink well when the cassette is inserted in the ink well thus ensuring that the duct roller uniformly inked between sides of the ink well.

The flexible bladder is also utilized in the operation of the ink cleaning system to move cleaning solution through all portions of the supply system and printer contaminated by ink mixed for the run.

    摘要: The offset printing machine comprises at least one flexible ink blade (14) which, angled in the direction of an ink roller (12), borders an ink bath (40) and can be bent in zones to different degrees against the cylindrical surface of the ink roller (12), and adjustment means for bending the ink blade edge (36). The peripheral surface (72) of the adjustment cam (62), produced with very high precision, lies freely in a longitudinal groove (89) of the control unit (58), and is progressively curved according to a further feature of the invention.

    摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for the metering of liquid media, especially varnish, of differing viscosity in an offset printing machine. Exchangeable metering subassemblies are assigned to a form cylinder. The first metering subassembly provided for processing low-viscosity media consists of a reservoir, a dipping roller, a metering roller and the form cylinder. The second metering subassembly for processing higher-viscosity media consists of a chamber doctor, a screened applicator roller and the form cylinder. In a further version, both metering subassemblies are assigned permanently to the form cylinder. Depending on the media to be processed, the necessary subassemblies are engaged with the form cylinder and the other subassembly is disengaged from the form cylinder.

    摘要: In order to improve the operation of an ink fountain, particularly for web offset printing presses, an ink fountain assembly is disclosed which includes a fountain roller and a fountain blade assembly which is positioned in operatively associated relation to the fountain roller. The fountain blade assembly has a fountain base with a key supporting surface and aim has a plurality of ink keys on the key supporting surface of the fountain base to extend substantially along the length of the fountain roller in variably spaced confronting parallel relation to the fountain roller. With these features of construction, the ink fountain assembly includes an alignment system for maintaining each of the ink keys in parallel relation to the fountain roller and a drive system for controlled movement of each of the ink keys toward and away from the fountain roller.

    摘要: A fountain assembly for applying a fluid composition uniformly to the circumferential surface of a rotating transfer roller. The assembly has an elongated plastic frame having a concave channel formed on one side of it and a rigid metal brace on the other side. A pair of doctor blades is attached to opposite sides of said channel and positioned to contact the surface of the transfer roller. A pair of curved radial surface seals form a resilient bulkhead with the ends of said doctor blades to form a seal with the roller. The radial surface seals, doctor blades and concave channel form a closed chamber when positioned against the transfer roller. A pivot supports the fountain assembly, alternately swiveling said fountain assembly toward and away from the transfer roller. Means are provided for supplying a fluid composition into the channel. In one embodiment, air cylinders are mounted between the pivoting support and frame for adjusting the position of said fountain assembly by thrusting the frame into and out of contact with the transfer roller. In another embodiment, washing nozzles are disposed along the channel for spraying a washing solution to the channel via an internal manifold within the frame for directing a washing fluid to the nozzles and dispensing a controlled amount of a washing solution under pressure through the manifold and nozzles.
