摘要: A method of milling a profile of a railway rail comprises: rotating a milling cutter including a plurality of face mounted cutting inserts mounted about a periphery thereof; milling a railway rail with cutting edges of the cutting inserts rotating in a predetermined plane corresponding to at least a portion of a desired rail profile while controlling the depth of cut of the cutting inserts; traversing the railway rail with the milling cutter while milling the railway rail; and controlling the speed of traverse of the milling cutter along the railway rail.

摘要: A milling system for milling a track surface with at least one rotatable milling plate. A modular blade system for each milling plate allows individual blades to be removed and replaced when an individual blade becomes dull or broken. The blade system also allows the milling plates to be oriented in both Type 2 and Type 3 configurations depending upon track surroundings and the presence of encumbrance. The milling plates can be mounted to a positioning assembly for adjusting the relative distance between the milling plate and the track surface as well as the angle at which the milling plate engages the track surface. The milling system can include a depth guide so as to physically prevent the milling plate from cutting too deeply into the track surface.

The rail milling assembly includes a bracket for coupling the rail milling assembly to the chassis and a milling workhead forming a portion of the rail milling assembly. The milling workhead including a spindle and a cutter depending downwardly from the spindle. The spindle and cutter are driven by a spindle motor. The milling workhead further includes a cylinder rod disposed between the spindle motor and the spindle to thereby bias the cutter towards the rail during operation.

摘要: An apparatus includes a milling member capable of being driven in a rotational manner, and a plurality of blade carriers attached to the milling member. Each blade carrier has a blade for chip-removing processing of a profile. A first group of blade carriers is capable of being moved relative to the milling member. Each movable blade carrier is arranged so as to be able to be radially deflected on the milling member by an actuation member during a rotating movement of the milling member. The actuation member cyclically comes into contact with a formation of the blade carrier. In a first functional position, exclusively the blades of the first group of movable blade carriers of a track path move into engagement with the profile. In a second functional position, exclusively blades of a second group of blade carriers of the same track path move into engagement with the profile.

摘要: A rail-mounted rail processing machine has at least one traction motor and with at least one working unit for processing tracks, a permanent energy source, an electrical energy storage and a current collector. The components are connected to a common direct current network via power converters. In order to create a rail-mounted rail processing machine that allows low-maintenance and environmentally friendly operation of working aggregates with strongly varying peak loads without having to accept losses in the processing quality, the permanent energy source is a fuel cell which feeds at least one base load of the working unit into the direct current network via one of the power converters. To cover peak loads of at least the working unit, buffer energy of the electrical energy storage acting as a buffer store is feedable into the direct current network via an associated one of the power converters.

The apparatus houses the required guides and motors to maneuver the tool on a plurality of axes with computer numerical control (“CNC”).
