摘要： A device for controlling a display with a number of strings of light-emitting elements (particularly bulbs) connected in series to offer a aesthetically favorable jeu de lumiere, having, apart from a timing generator and a driving circuit for the display, a read only memory ROM, a programmable logic array PLA, two dividers and two address counters. With this device, all the aesthetically practical patterns can be repeated in desired times with varying speeds while requiring a very small storage capacity of the ROM, thus considerably saving the cost of production.

摘要： A memory and driver circuit for each lamp of a flat screen video display apparatus which comprises a plurality of addressable incandescent lamps arranged in an X-Y matrix is provided. The gray scale visual effect of the video information being presented comes as a result of controlling the length of time of illumination of each lamp. Each of the lamps is connected in series with a source of power and a switchable solid state device such as an SCR or a transistor. When the source of power is an alternating current source where each of the pulses has its initial slope always in the same sense with respect to zero, the circuit is arranged with negative-going video information so that the lamps are held off -- i.e., black -- in the presence of a video signal above a threshold, and are thereafter turned on. Phase modulation is thereby provided. When the source of power is direct current, each lamp is illuminated when there is a video signal intended for that lamp and above a predetermined reference level. Pulse width modulation is provided in this case.

摘要： Techniques are disclosed for providing a color pattern unlock mode in electronic touch sensitive devices. The color pattern unlock mode can display an unlock screen to the user, prompting the user to arrange or create a specific color pattern in order to unlock the device. The customizable color pattern may include any uniquely identifiable unlocking pattern including a combination of colors. Example color patterns include a combination of colors arranged in a certain order, a combination of colors combined with a password, a combination of colors combined with one or more words written out in one or more colors, or a combination of colors each matched with a specific image. When the user has arranged the proper color pattern, the device unlocks and may be used. If the correct color pattern is not arranged, the device remains locked.
