摘要: Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for allocating content elements addressed for a content opportunity in a transport stream within a household-addressable media network. A content opportunity may include an advertising slot in a programming stream. The content elements may include advertising content configured to be run during the advertising slot. The advertising slot may be transmitted in a programming stream providing television programming and the advertising content may be provided in a commercial feed. The media network may be configured to transmit various content formats, such as high definition (HD), standard definition (SD), and variations thereof. Systems may be configured to allocate the highest profile corresponding content elements if there is sufficient resources available. If sufficient resources are not available, the system may allocate lower profile versions of the content elements.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computing devices are described herein for request and transmission, to a computing device, of media content based on the importance of a portion of the media content. Media content may comprise baseline media content and enhancement data. Based on determining that an importance of a portion of the media content meets a threshold, the computing device may retrieve the enhancement data. The computing device may retrieve the enhancement data via a separate interface than the baseline media content. Information about baseline media content, enhancement data, and the importance of a portion of the media content may be contained in a manifest. The threshold for importance may be based on the media content and/or user preferences.

摘要: There is provided a method for adaptive bitrate (ABR) adjustments in an IP network before making upshift of ABR level of media streams like video for live Over the Top (OTT) distribution. Example methods may include initiating, at a first time interval, probing of the IP network to determine if a first candidate bitrate is applicable, where the first candidate bitrate is greater than a preset bitrate of a client device data stream, determining that the candidate bitrate is applicable, increasing a transfer bitrate of the client device data stream, and initiating, at a second time interval, probing of the IP network to determine if a second candidate bitrate is applicable, where the second candidate bitrate is greater than the first candidate bitrate.

摘要: A method for providing privacy during delivery of ABR media content to a plurality of ABR OTT client devices includes receiving, at a network node that includes a Controlled Cache, an ABR manifest for an ABR media asset. The ABR manifest includes a segmentation-units index. Responsive to receiving a request for the ABR media asset from an ABR OTT client device, the method sends to the ABR OTT client device a custom manifest having a number of segmentation-units in segments that is customized for an ABR playback session. A network node, which can be one of an origin server, an edge server and a Just-In-Time Packager (JIT-P), and a computer program product for providing privacy during delivery are also shown.

The method can include the operation of organizing a plurality of clients each having media streamlets and a client parent in a structure within the local network. Mapping information propagates through the structure. The mapping information represents local streamlet locations as stored by the plurality of clients. Another operation is retrieving a local streamlet from a client identified in the mapping information as having the local streamlet for the requesting client.

摘要: Systems and methods for encoding a plurality of alternative streams of video content using multiple encoders in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. An encoding system includes multiple encoders. Each of the encoders receives a source stream of video content that is divided into portions. Each of the encoders generates portions of the plurality of alternative streams from the portions of the source stream. The portions of the alternative streams generated by a particular encoder are stored in a container for the particular encoder. Each encoder also generates index information for the portion of the alternative stream generated by the encoder that is stored in a manifest for the encoder.

摘要: Method and device of transmitting and receiving ultra high video are provided. The method of transmitting ultra high definition video includes: acquiring ultra high definition video; compressing data, by a compression algorithm to obtain compressed data, of the ultra high definition video; packing the compressed data into user datagram protocol (UDP) data packets; transmitting the UDP data packets to a first 10-gigabit network module according to a UDP protocol. The compressed data is packaged into the UDP data packets and the UDP data packets are transmitted by the 10-gigabit network module, thereby realizing the high-efficiency transmission of video data based on the 10-gigabit network and UDP protocol stack. A transmission system is also provided.

摘要: A sequence of picture slices is encoded as reference slices and non-reference slices, wherein the reference slices include B slices, by forming, for each B slice, at least one data packet containing data values derived from brightness and color information pertaining to the slice. The data packet for each B slice includes a header element indicating whether the B slice is a reference slice. The header element of each reference B slice has a value that depends on depth of the reference B slice in a hierarchy of discardability.
