摘要: Methods and systems are provided for recording data in a network. A recording device may receive a recording instruction identifying a media content transmitted by an upstream media content server, and may offload recording one or more of a plurality of portions of the media content to one or more intermediate recording devices positioned between the recording device and the upstream media content server. Each portion of the media content may correspond to different portion of a transmission period associated with transmission of the media content, and may be assigned a corresponding recording control information configured based, at least in part, on one or more parameters associated with a network node recording or storing a corresponding one of the portions. Storage and retrieval of each of the portions of the media content may be managed based, at least in part, on the corresponding recording control information.

摘要: A method of controlling, from a user device, a manner in which program content is received from a content server. The method includes: transmitting, from the user device, at least one transmission-quality-of-service (TXQ) parameter to the content server, wherein the at least one TXQ parameter updates a default TXQ parameter at the content server; and in response to transmitting the at least one TXQ parameter, receiving new program content in accordance with the at least one TXQ parameter.

摘要: Techniques are described for determining quality of experience (QoE) rate information for streaming video. For example, QoE rates can be calculated by a client while receiving and decoding an encoded video stream. The QoE rates can be calculated based on the number of video stalls that occur at the client while decoding the encoded video stream during a plurality of time periods. Determining whether a video stall occurs during a given time period involves comparing an encoded frame rate to a decoded frame rate. Indications of the QoE rates can be output.

摘要: Techniques for providing multimedia content in a virtual set top system are described. In some embodiments, a stream switchover method for UI rendering is performed at a device (e.g., a server) with one or more processors and a non-transitory memory. The server distributes a first stream that includes a plurality of frames. The server receives a request for a user interface (UI) from a client. In response to receiving the request, the server generates a second stream by locating an encoder to encode the plurality of frames into the second stream based on the first stream, instructing the encoder to accelerate encoding of the plurality of frames and facilitating blending of the UI into the second stream with the plurality of frames. The server then switches the client from the first stream to the second stream.
