摘要: There is provided a method for adaptive bitrate (ABR) adjustments in an IP network before making upshift of ABR level of media streams like video for live Over the Top (OTT) distribution. The invention is based on before upshifting of a current ABR level to a higher ABR level for one or more client devices, probing the network system with a higher bitrate of the data stream provided by e.g. replicating data in the data stream, and monitoring network conditions during probing. Based on the probing it is determined if the available resources in the network are sufficient to sustain an upshift of ABR-level for the client device.

摘要: Embodiments provide a method for transmitting a service stream in a flexible Ethernet and an apparatus. The method includes: obtaining a to-be-transmitted service stream, where the service stream is to be transmitted by using a target virtual connection supported by a physical connection group between a transmit end and a receive end, the physical connection group includes multiple physical connections and supports at least one virtual connection, and the target virtual connection is any one of the at least one virtual connection; determining, from total bandwidth resources of the multiple physical connections and according to timeslot configuration tables used by the multiple physical connections, a timeslot bandwidth resource that belongs to the target virtual connection; and transmitting the service stream to the receive end by using the timeslot bandwidth resource that belongs to the target virtual connection.

Additionally, linear compression techniques can be used to reduce the transport bandwidth. Compression on a fronthaul can be achieved by utilizing the concept of spatial compression. After a signal has been compressed, it can be decompressed in accordance with a number of antennas.

摘要: Out-of-band management techniques for networking fabrics are described. In an example embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a packet-switched network interface to deconstruct a packet received via an out-of-band management network and control circuitry to execute an out-of-band management agent, and the out-of-band management agent may be operative to identify a configuration command comprised in the received packet and control an optical circuit-switched network interface based on the configuration command. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An output thread receives HRD buffer occupancy data and calculates buffer occupancy based on duration, rather than absolute occupancy, and correlates the HRD buffer occupancy data with target durations for buffered packets prior to release from the buffer.

摘要: This disclosure describes a video interconnect system that may establish a Video over Long Term Evolution (ViLTE) communication session between two interacting client devices. In some examples, the video interconnect system may selectively establish a ViLTE communication based on one or more rules associated with the domain information of interacting client devices, availability of network bandwidth, bandwidth consumption of a video component of the ViLTE communication, or established service agreements between telecommunication service providers of the interacting client devices. Further, the video interconnect system may facilitate generating termination charges for a video and/or audio communication session of a ViLTE communication. For example, a video component of the ViLTE communication may be charged and metered based on data usage, and an audio component of the ViLTE communication may be charged and metered based on the duration and relative location of the interacting client devices.
