    Abstract: A vehicular driver monitoring system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly having a mirror head adjustably attached at a mounting base configured to attach at an interior portion of a vehicle. A driver monitoring camera is accommodated by the mirror head so as to move in tandem with the mirror head when the mirror head is adjusted relative to the mounting base to adjust a driver's rearward view. At least one near infrared light emitter is accommodated by the mirror head and is operable to emit near infrared light toward a head region of the driver of the vehicle. Image data captured by the driver monitoring camera is processed to determine driver attentiveness and/or driver drowsiness. The vehicular driver monitoring system adjusts processing of the captured image data to accommodate adjustment of the mirror head when the driver adjusts the mirror head to adjust his or her rearward view.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head that includes a mirror reflective element and a mounting base configured for attachment at a side of a vehicle. The mirror head is movable relative to the mounting base between an extended position and a folded position. A pivot assembly includes (i) a pivot post fixed relative to the mounting base, (ii) a housing portion pivotable about the pivot post, and (iii) a biasing element disposed at the pivot post between the housing portion and an end of the pivot post, the biasing element urging a detent interface into engagement. The detent interface moves into engagement to secure the mirror head in the extended or folded position. The biasing element includes first and second coil portions having overlapping and alternating coil patterns.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a base portion configured to mount at a vehicle door. A handle portion includes a grasping portion and is movable relative to the base portion between a recessed position, where the grasping portion is recessed at the base portion, and a deployed position, where the grasping portion protrudes outward to be graspable by the user. A deployment mechanism is operable to move the handle portion between the recessed and deployed positions. A control module, based on a user input, actuates a latch mechanism to unlock the vehicle door. The deployment mechanism, responsive to the control module unlocking the vehicle door, moves the handle portion from the recessed position to the deployed position. With the handle portion in the deployed position and the vehicle door unlocked, the handle portion is graspable by the user to open the vehicle door.

The mirror head accommodates a reflective element. A powerfold actuator is operable to pivot the mirror head relative to the mounting base between at least an extended position and a folded position. The powerfold actuator includes a primary detent state that is engaged to maintain the mirror head at the extended position when the mirror head is pivoted via the powerfold actuator to the extended position. When the mirror head is manually moved from the folded position to the extended position, the powerfold operator is in a secondary detent to maintain the mirror head at the extended position.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustably mounted at a mounting arm via a link that pivotally attaches at one end to the mirror head and pivotally attaches at another end to the mounting arm. With the mounting arm attached at the side of a vehicle, the mirror head is adjustable relative to the mounting arm between a retracted position and an extended position. An adjustment mechanism is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm and includes an electrically operated motor that operates to pivotally adjust the link, which swings the mirror head along an arcuate path. When the motor is operated to pivotally adjust the link to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm, an angle of the mirror head relative to the side of the vehicle at which the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached is also adjusted.

    Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mounting structure configured for mounting at an interior portion of a vehicle. The mounting structure includes a mounting arm that has (i) a proximal end portion and (ii) a distal end portion distal from the proximal end portion. With the mounting structure mounted at the interior portion of the vehicle, the proximal end portion of the mounting arm is attached at the interior portion of the vehicle. A motorized actuator is disposed within a mirror housing that accommodates a reflective element. The motorized actuator is electrically operable to adjust the reflective element and the mirror housing together and in tandem relative to the mounting structure to provide a desired rearward field of view to a driver of the vehicle when the vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly is mounted and operated in the vehicle.
