This ring network for wavelength-multiplexed information transmission. comprises two optical fibres (F1, F2) passing through nodes (N1 to N4) of the network and traversed in the opposite direction by informations, electronic add-drop multiplexers (ME1 to ME4) or ADM, each ADM supplying information to other ADM's, of the network at given wavelengths and optical add-drop multiplexers (M01 to M04) or OADM, each OADM adding to the fibres the informations from the associated ADM and extracting from said fibres the informations intended for said ADM. Application to optical telecommunications.
Abstract:
A sound pickup system with which there are associated a video aiming system and a method for the setting of the characteristic parameters of the sound pickup. The device comprises, in addition to the network of sensors, a control unit and a circuit for the setting of the characteristic parameters, a video camera, a video screen and a circuit for coupling the screen to the a circuit for setting the characteristic parameters of each of the sound reception channels in order to achieve a superimposition of images so that it is possible to control the setting of the parameters with respect to the position and size of the sound sources. A method for the setting of the characteristic parameters of the sound pickup enables the interpolation of the coefficients of digital filters linearly and in time. Application to sound pickup systems adapted to conference halls.
Abstract:
The connection component comprises a plurality of optical fibers united at a common end in such a manner that their claddings are mutually tangential and the axes of their cores occupy a configuration that corresponds to the configuration of the axes of a multi-core with which said common end is to be connected, said fibers being free from one another at their opposite ends. The method brings the fibers together by depositing a drop of liquid thereon.
Abstract:
A Smart Card Based System for telephone-securized transactions. The system includes a telephone terminal (10) connected to a server (30) and a package or unit (40) incorporating a keypad (42), a smart card (48) and sound signal transmission device. The transmission of the information of the card to the server takes place by way of sound signals and the telephone terminal. In the other direction, the information is addressed in vocal manner to the user, who types them on the keypad (42) of the unit (40). Application to securized teletransactions, particularly electronic funds transfer.
Abstract:
To estimate the response of a system to an input signal, on the one hand the input signal and on the other hand an observation signal, a component of which is said response to the input signal, are received, an error signal is determined by subtracting from the observation signal the input signal filtered by an identification filter representative of the response of said system, and the coefficients of the identification filter are adapted by taking into account the input signal and the error signal. If the adaptation takes into account an adaption stepsize .mu..sub.t, the latter is varied according to: .mu..sub.t =a/(c+d. P2.sub.t /P1.sub.t), where a, c and d denote positive constants, P1.sub.t denotes an estimate of the power of the input signal and P2.sub.t denotes an estimate of the power of the observation signal or of a disturbance component of said observation signal. The variable .mu..sub.t can also be employed to adapt the gains of an echo canceller with adaptive gains.
Abstract:
In a device for rejecting the image signal of a signal converted to a predetermined intermediate frequency, a local oscillator supplies a local signal at a frequency chosen according to the frequency of the signal and the intermediate frequency. A first phase-shifter has two passive phase-shifter cells including resistive and capacitive components and respectively connected to the output of the oscillator to supply two mixer signals in phase quadrature. Two mixers receive an input signal containing a signal and its image signal and a respective mixer signal and supply two intermediate signals at the intermediate frequency. A second phase-shifter comprises two passive phase-shifter cells comprising resistive and capacitive components and respectively connected to the outputs of the two mixers to introduce a further phase quadrature relationship between the two intermediate signals. A summing device connected to the outputs of the two passive phase-shifter cells of the second phase-shifter eliminates the image signal.
Abstract:
The terminal and the user module are authenticated in a combined manner on the basis of an authentication key calculated on the one hand by the terminal and on the other hand by the network. A session key is firstly calculated by the user module on the basis of a secret user key, of a terminal identification parameter and of a first random number. Calculation of the authentication key by the terminal involves this session key calculated by the user module, a secret terminal identification key and a second random number. The network calculates in the same way the session key and the authentication key by retrieving the secret keys on the basis of the identification parameters transmitted by the terminal. The terminals can then be authenticated by the network independently of the associated user modules.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for playing back a sequence of images from a run of component images successively supplied in digital form by a remote source to a receiver apparatus having the function of playing back the images of the sequence at a given rate, and in which each image constitutes an independent set that is received in the form of data trains. The apparatus includes verification that each received data train and each run of trains making up a set is valid, storing the most recently received valid set, reconstituting image signals from the most recently received valid set, and a clock for locally and independently generating clock signals for triggering visual reproduction of images as a function of circumstances.
