    Abstract: A switched reluctance motor. The motor includes a first member having a plurality of teeth arranged in a plurality of phase groups, each phase group including two teeth mechanically joined together through a magnetically permeable bridge. The motor also includes a second member mounted adjacent the first member allowing relative movement between the first and second members, the second member having a plurality of teeth evenly spaced from one another by a pitch in a direction of relative movement between the first and second members. Each phase group includes a first tooth and a second tooth which is separated from the first tooth by a phase group tooth spacing in the direction of relative movement between the first and second members, the phase group tooth spacing equal to a whole multiple of the pitch plus a skewing factor or a whole multiple of the pitch minus the skewing factor.

    Abstract: Reduction in drive torque of a permanent magnet motor having a skew arrangement is to be suppressed. A permanent magnet motor has a rotor including a rotor core formed as a stacked assembly of a plurality of electromagnetic steel sheets stacked one upon another and magnets accommodated within accommodation holes formed inside the rotor core. The rotor core has a skew arrangement including a first core and a second core that are displaced relative to each other in a circumferential direction relative to an axis of the rotor. The accommodation hole of the first core accommodates a first magnet of the magnets. The accommodation hole of the second core accommodates a second magnet of the magnets. The first magnet and the second magnet are opposed to each other via a first gap therebetween in the direction of the axis.

    Abstract: A rotor of an electrical rotating machine includes a first rotor core, a second rotor core which overlaps the first rotor core in an axial direction, a non-magnetic substance layer which is interposed between the rotor cores, and a plurality of permanent magnet portions which are embedded in each rotor core. Each of the rotor cores includes a plurality of flux barrier portions and a plurality of effectual magnetic flux portions which are alternately arranged on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The flux barrier portion of the first rotor core overlaps both of a portion of the flux barrier portion of the second rotor core and a portion of the effectual magnetic flux portion of the second rotor core in the axial direction such that, in the adjacent rotor cores, the effectual magnetic flux portions do not overlap each other in the axial direction.
