Abstract: A pump for spraying an anti-freezing liquid on a conveyor belt exposed to freezing temperatures is controlled by an electric circuit containing a timer, a relay provided with a normally open switch, and a normally open thermostat that closes to start the timer when the ambient temperature falls below a given low temperature. The relay is connected in series with the timer switch and the thermostat to close the relay switch when both the timer switch and the thermostat are closed, whereby the pump will be operated until the timer times out or the thermostat reopens. If desired, the relay can be omitted.

Abstract: A flexible endless belt in a belt-type conveyor for an agricultural machine has a central rib bonded to its inside surface, the construction and cross section of the rib being similar to that of a power transmission-type V belt. The conveyor rollers have central V-shaped grooves to mate with the rib on the belt. The conveyor is driven through an end roller, power being transmitted to the belt by the combined frictions between the roller and the flat and V sections of the belt respectively. On an idler roller at the other end of the conveyor, a pair of raised annular ridges straddle the V-shaped groove, thus increasing belt tension adjacent the groove and ensuring that of the forces controlling the tracking of the belt on the rollers, those deriving from the V belt in the V-shaped groove are dominant so that the belt tracks straight and remains centered on the rollers.

Abstract: A belt conveyor idler has a rigid U-shaped channel which is fixedly mounted on a pair of spaced supports. A rigid strip of a low-friction material, such as a high molecular weight polyethelene, is fixedly mounted within the channel and extends transversely across the path of a conveyor belt for slidably supporting the conveyor belt. The channel and strip of low-friction material each have a complementary catenary configuration for the load-bearing troughing run of the conveyor belt, and a straight horizontal configuration for the return run of the belt. Belt retainer blocks are formed of the same low-friction material as the channel strip and are mounted on the ends of the channel strip to prevent excess sideways movement of the belt. The low-friction strips may be formed with a plurality of transverse slots to reduce the contact surface between the belt and strips. The idlers for both the troughing and return belt runs are free of any moving parts, yet provide a low-friction support for the conveyor belt.

Abstract: In a bulk material handling apparatus especially adapted for handling granular material a pair of flexible belts are arranged about drive and idler pulleys to provide a material receiving run of one belt, a substantially vertical run or section where the belts are in face-to-face contact for receiving and transporting the material therebetween, and an upper material delivery run where the material is discharged at a different level. In the change of elevation section, staggered rollers are provided to urge the edges of the belts into engagement with one another so as to substantially eliminate leakage or spillage of material from therebetween. The edges of the belts are stretched in following a sinuous path between the edge rollers thereby causing the confronting belt edges to firmly engage one another.

Abstract: A conveyor assembly comprises a main conveyor and a boom conveyor. Abstract: A bucket dredger has a bucket chain guided over a rocker, the buckets being pivotally interconnected by links of a length shorter than the length of the frame member of the buckets.
