    Abstract: Methods to enhance the coverage of NR systems for coverage-limited wireless devices are disclosed. A serving base station may configure a coverage-limited UE with parameters for the UE to operate in a coverage enhancement mode through RRC signaling, DCI, or RAR grant. The UE may use the configuration parameters to determine whether to enter into the coverage enhancement mode when connecting and communicating with the serving base station. The configuration parameters may configure the UE to exploit both time diversity and frequency diversity to extend and enhance coverage when receiving PDSCH and PDCCH channels. The UE may use the configuration parameters to receive PDSCH and PCCCH that are coverage enhanced using time repetitions and frequency hopping. Advantageously, the base station may flexibly and dynamically configure the UE with coverage enhancement parameters to extend the coverage of the UE using time diversity and frequency diversity gains as the UE moves around.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a network for transmission of a plurality of data bursts further comprising a plurality of data segments. The UE may transmit, to the network, a first data segment corresponding to a first quality of service flow identifier (QFI) associated with a first quality of service (QoS) flow and a second data segment corresponding to a second QFI associated with a second QoS flow. The UE may be configured to map one or more data segments to one or more QFIs based on at least one of a slice type, a frame type, a modulo operation, and a sequence number. The plurality of data bursts may be transmitted according to at least one of one or more configured grants (CGs), one or more dynamic grants (DGs), and one or more instances of the one or more CGs or one or more DGs.

    Abstract: The present application relates to improved methods of application instance registration in a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) system, comprising, e.g.: receiving, at a MEC platform device, a registration request for a first application instance; determining, by the MEC platform device, that the first application instance is not presently registered; in response to determining that the first application instance is not presently registered, allocating, by the MEC platform device, a first application instance registration identifier for the first application instance; transmitting, by the MEC platform device, the first application instance registration identifier to the first application instance; and causing, by the MEC platform device, a first application instance registration notification to be sent to a MEC system-level management device. According to some aspects, the MEC platform device may first send a permission request to a MEC system-level management device to request permission to be able to register the first application instance.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device (UE) may provide information pertaining to one or more operating capabilities of the UE to LTE and 5G-NR networks. The UE may transmit information to an LTE base station directly, and to a 5G-NR base station directly, or indirectly via the LTE base station. The information may include preferred values corresponding to any number of different operating parameters associated with wireless communications or wireless communication capabilities of the UE in both LTE and 5G-NR networks, informing and/or requesting the LTE and 5G-NR networks to make provisions based on the transmitted information for the wireless communications of the UE on those networks. The UE may thereby provide assistance information to LTE and 5G-NR networks in a multi-radio-access-technology dual-connectivity setting to request the respective networks to adjust certain operating capabilities of the UE in order to alleviate one or more operating issues that may be affecting the UE.
