Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for encapsulating a plurality of data substreams encoded in a bit stream, wherein the encoded data substream is obtained by entropy encoding of a symbol subsequence representing an image or a series of images. The method includes grouping data substreams into substream pairs according to an iterative traversal order predetermined from the plurality of substreams, and on the basis of a pair of the substreams, obtaining a symmetrical pair by reversing a data order making up the second substream of the pair. The obtained pairs are then concatenated within a sequence. The binary stream is created by encapsulating the sequence and information related to a number of substreams and related to the sizes of pairs of symmetrical substreams.

A method and apparatus are provided. The method is carried out by a notification engine, for delivering to a user equipment a group of incoming notifications from at least one application running on the user equipment. The application running on the user equipment is registered on the notification engine. The method includes: defining at least one criterion for delivering notifications, buffering the incoming notifications, and delivering according to the criterion a group of previously buffered notifications.

A multi-access RJ45 adaptor is provided, which includes an RJ45 plug, at least two RJ45 sockets, and a mobile piece that can move between the at least two RJ45 sockets. The mobile piece is configured to allow insertion of an RJ45 plug into any of the RJ45 sockets and simultaneously to prevent the insertion of another RJ45 plug into the other of the RJ45 sockets.

Method for allowing distributed running of an application between a device and a server connected via a network. The method includes the following steps carried out by the device: obtaining a device profile including resource capacity characteristics of the device; obtaining an application profile including resource consumption characteristics of the application; obtaining device metrics relating to real-time resource usage with respect to the device; obtaining offload rules defining conditions under which an application is to be run at least in part on a server and/or on a device, the conditions involving device resource capacity, application resource consumption and device real-time resource usage; and making a decision by an inference engine to run the application at least in part on the server and/or on the device, by evaluating the offload rules applied to the device profile, application profile and device metrics.

The present method and system implements a method for presenting notifications on an electronic device partitioned into two or more distinct instances, each instance being aware of separate sets of events associated to applications running in that instance. The method includes collecting for each instance the notifications corresponding to the separate sets of events, rendering in the active instance the active instance notifications using a first display mode, while rendering the other instance notifications using a second display mode.

A method and apparatus are provided for predicting a movement vector of a current image partition in relation to a movement vector of a reference partition having the same form as the current image partition and belonging to a reference image (IN-1) which is different from the current image and has been pre-cut, following encoding and subsequent decoding, into a plurality of n partitions. One such method includes, when the reference partition covers a set of k reference partitions from among the plurality of n reference image partitions, with k≦n, determining the movement vector of the current image partition from a function of at least one reference movement vector belonging to a set of k reference movement vectors associated respectively with k covered reference partitions.
Abstract:
A method for browsing in a visual content such as a document or a list. The content is available on a terminal having a browsing command. Part of the content is displayed on a display of the terminal. The browsing commands enable the contents displayed on the screen to be made to scroll in the direction specified by the command introduced. The displayed part is duplicated into two identical images when one end of the content situated in the direction of movement specified by the browsing command is displayed on the means for displaying. A first image remains still and a second image moves in the direction of movement specified by the browsing command so long as the command is active. In this way, the user sees that the command has indeed been taken into account and notes visually that the end of the visual content has been reached.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for supervising a transfer of a call or of processing a call set up between first and second terminals in a communications network implementing an SIP type signaling protocol. The method is implemented after sending or receiving, as the case may be, a command to transfer the already-set up call to a call between the first terminal and a third terminal. The supervision method obtains an item of information relating to setting up the call between the first and third terminals and sends a command to resume the call between the first and second terminals as a function of whether at least one non-set up criterion is true. The processing method transmits information relating to setting up the call between the first and third terminals and sets up a call between the first and second terminals as a function of whether the resumption command is received.

A method and apparatus are provided for managing a terminal of a user of a telecommunications network. The terminal is connected to the telecommunications network via at least one access network. The method includes a step, executed on receiving a registration request including an address of record of the user, an address of contact of the terminal, and an access network type of the terminal, of storing in a database an association between the address of record of the user, the access network type of the terminal, and the address of contact of the terminal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for allocating carriers from a list of carriers in a telecommunication network. Each of the carriers allow transmission of a transmission control frame, each of said transmission control frame has a data block corresponding to a data stream and an indication of the previous carrier allocated to the data stream. The method includes, for a transmission control frame and a carrier selected for allocation to the transmission control frame in the list of carriers, the steps of determining the number of binary bits needed to identify the number of carriers in the list of carriers, coding the indication based on the determined number of binary bits, and removing the allocated carrier from the list of carriers.
