Abstract: Systems for determining fractional flow reserve are disclosed. An example system may include a pressure sensing guidewire for measuring a first pressure, a second pressure sensing medical device for measuring a second pressure, and a processor coupled to the pressure sensing guidewire and coupled to the second pressure sensing medical device. The processor may be designed to generate a plot of the magnitude of the second pressure over time, identify one or more time intervals of the plot that have a slope less than zero, determine a mean of the second pressure, and calculate the ratio of the first pressure to the second pressure when (a) the second pressure is less than or equal to the mean of the second pressure and (b) during the one or more time intervals when the slope of the plot is less than zero.

Abstract: A clipping system includes a cap configured to be mounted over a distal end of an endoscope. A clip mountable over the cap to move between an insertion configuration, in which first and second jaws extend over opposing portions of the cap so that the first and second jaws are separated from one another, a review configuration, in which the clip is moved distally relative to the cap so that a portion of the clip extends distally until at least a portion of the clip extends into a field of view of the optical system of an endoscope on which the cap is mounted, and a deployed configuration in which the clip is moved distally off of the clip so that the first and second jaws are drawn toward one another under the bias of the at least one hinge to close over tissue received therebetween.

Abstract: A medical system that includes a shaft having a distal end configured to be positioned at a target site, a first light and a second light positioned at the distal end, and a computing device communicatively coupled to the first and second light. The computing device includes a processor and non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to determine a first illumination measurement of a first region of the target site by the first light and a second illumination measurement of a second region of the target site by the second light. The second region is different than the first region. The processor adjusts emittance from the first light, in response to the first illumination measurement being different than a first threshold, and emittance from the second light in response to the second illumination measurement being different than a second threshold.

The plurality of flexible arms may project radially inward from the inner surface at least 50% of a distance from the inner surface to a central longitudinal axis of the tubular member in an unbiased configuration. The plurality of flexible arms may be configured to push a plurality of leaflets of the replacement heart valve implant radially inward as the replacement heart valve implant passes through the tubular member.

Abstract: An alignment tool for loading a stent includes a plurality of arms each having a shaft with an engagement region moveable between a first, angled configuration relative to the shaft, and a second, straight configuration, with each engagement region having an inner surface shaped to mate with a stent holder. The alignment tool further includes a lock ring having a lumen configured to receive the plurality of arms, with the lock ring configured to slide over the arms between a first retracted position in which the engagement region of each arm is exposed and allowed to bias into the angled configuration, and a second locked position in which the lock ring extends over at least a portion of the engagement regions and compresses the engagement regions into the straight configuration. The alignment tool may also include a spring configured to bias the lock ring in the locked position.

The catheter can include a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end of the shaft and the distal end of the body can be configured for releasable coupling. The catheter can also include a steering section located along the shaft and a catheter control member coupled to the steering section, wherein the catheter control member can be configured to move relative to the shaft to move the steering section relative to the longitudinal axis. The medical device can also include a securing member configured to move relative to at least one of the handle and the catheter to releasably couple the handle control member to the catheter control member.
