Abstract:
A method of hierarchical coding of a digital audio frequency input signal into several frequency sub-bands, including a core coding of the input signal according to a first throughput and at least one enhancement coding of higher throughput, of a residual signal. The core coding uses a binary allocation according to an energy criterion. The method includes for the enhancement coding: calculating a frequency-based masking threshold for at least part of the frequency bands processed by the enhancement coding; determining a perceptual importance per frequency sub-band as a function of the masking threshold and as a function of the number of bits allocated for the core coding; binary allocation of bits in the frequency sub-bands processed by the enhancement coding, as a function of the perceptual importance determined; and coding the residual signal according to the bit allocation. Also provided are a decoding method, a coder and a decoder.
Abstract:
A method is provided for filtering a scalable video stream, organized in the form of data unit blocks, each of which comprises a base data unit and a set of data units distributed according to two types of enhancement data, corresponding respectively to time and/or space and/or quality characteristics and making it possible to define several quality levels. The method defines at least two distinct filtering profiles, or paths of each block data units, wherein each path defines a row of successive foldover positions and each foldover position uses at least by one less data units than a previous position, and selects one of the paths according to a predetermined criterion, taking into account the type of content of the stream and/or at least one information item representing the capacities of a terminal receiving the stream.
Abstract:
A telecommunication network comprises multiple radio cells (13-15) and a data base (12) which is linked to a multiple number of cells and which comprises information relative to the radio resources of each radio cell of the multiple numbers of cells. The data base is managed by a data base management entity (16). Via the first cell, a requesting message (21) is broadcast to the data base management entity requesting information concerning the radio resources of at least a second cell of the multiple numbers of cells. Then, a response message (22) is received from the data base management entity with the requested information. Finally, radio resources are requested from the second cell on the basis of the information received.
Abstract:
A method of filtering an electronic medical record (EMR) based on a selected body part (SBP). The method may be controlled by one or more controllers and may include one or more acts of obtaining image information of a patient, analyzing the image information using an object recognition method, identifying a SBP of the patient based upon the analyzing of the image information, and filtering the EMR of the patient in accordance with the SBP.
Abstract:
A method of managing contact lists on a plurality of mobile devices, the mobile devices being connected to a network. The method sensing one or more communications provided by a plurality of broadcast services, the one or more communications including contact information; selecting the contact information of the sensed one or more communications in which a user of a mobile device is interested; adding the selected contact information in a contact list associated with the mobile device of the user; determining contact information that has expired; and removing the expired contact information from the contact list associated with the mobile device of the user.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for processing data. The method includes a step of receiving, during a first communication session established with said server, a request formulated by a first user defining at least one processing operation to be executed on first data, and a step of executing said processing operation on said first data, during a second communication session established with said server after said first session for a second user. The step of executing is applied on condition that the second user has been authenticated via a strong authentication method during the second session and that a relationship between the first and second users has been verified.
Abstract:
A method of redirecting a request (R_act) sent by a terminal equipment (STB) for control of a data stream (FL0) broadcast by a source (HE) in a telecommunications network. The method comprises: on reception of a request to control a data stream sent by a terminal equipment (STB), a step of obtaining info cation representing a current data stream control capacity for a plurality (11) of broadcast servers; a step of selecting, with the aid of the above information, a server (NTSSk0) from said plurality of servers able to control said data stream (FL0) broadcast by the source, a step of sending a request to capture this data stream to the selected server if it is not already capturing the data stream for at least one other terminal equipment; and a step of redirecting the control request to the selected server.
Abstract:
An access point (30) for controlling routing in a hybrid network includes a topology table including routes to nodes registered on request with the access point and routes to nodes that have responded to an advertisement message broadcast by this access point (30) only to nodes having a predetermined status and means for selecting a route from all possible routes between a source node (S) and a destination node (D) determined from the above-mentioned response messages. Only nodes that have not contributed to routing a registration request respond to the advertisement message.
Abstract:
A system of authorizing access to a resource including a processor obtaining sensor information related to at least two users from one or more sensors, the sensor information including one or more of image information and proximity information of each of the at least two users. Further, an act of identifying current gestures is performed for each of the at least two users in accordance with the sensor information. The current gestures may be compared with pre-stored gesture information related to predetermined gestures and an order of the predetermined gestures. Further, access to the resource may be authorized when it is determined that the current gestures are in accordance with the predetermined gestures and the order of the predetermined gestures.
Abstract:
A secure communication method including: obtaining sensor information of at least one user, the sensor information including one or more of image information or depth information; recognizing at least one gesture in accordance with the sensor information of the at least one user; determining whether each of the recognized at least one gesture is a public gesture or a private gesture in accordance with a zone where the gesture was performed, the zone being selected from a plurality of zones; and authorizing access to a resource when it is determined that the at least one gesture is determined to be the public gesture or the private gesture.
