    Abstract: Side-by-side inductor coils are wound in a single layer around a thin flat tubular frame. The frame has a closed end portion and is mounted on an insulative base sheet. An elongated thin magnetic core is cantilevered from a insulative connecting rod and normally is positioned inside the frame approximately centered between the two coils. The end portion of the connecting rod remote from the frame is secured to the base sheet. The base sheet can be applied to a specimen to be stress tested and is formed to withstand elongation and compression. Lengthwise sliding of movement of the magnetic core in the coil frame due to stress applied to the specimen indicates the strain of the specimen.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to the process for preparing terpolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), ethylene (E), and a third monomer. According to the present invention, dicarbonate peroxide is used as initiator, 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoro-ethane as the reaction medium and compounds of molecular formula C.sub.n R.sub.2n+2, wherein, n=0,1, or 2;R=H, Cl or F, are gaseous chain telomeric agents to control the average molecular weight of copolymers, the formula of third monomer is CF.sub.2 XCOCF.sub.2 X' or ##STR1## wherein X=X'=Cl or F, R.sub.1 =CF.sub.3 or CH.sub.3,R.sub.2 =CF.sub.3, CH.sub.3 or H, and R.sub.3 =H or F, usually the molar ratio of TFE to E is from 60:40 to 40:60 with the content of the third monomer being from 0.1% to 10%, based on the total molar amount of TFE and E.

    Abstract: An isolated nucleic acid encoding a C-terminal fragment of paraspeckle component 1 (PSPC1) is disclosed. The C-terminal fragment of the PSPC1 comprises an extension of more than 10 but no greater than 131 amino acid residues with its C-terminal amino acid identical to the C-terminus of the PSPC1 sequence SEQ ID NO: 3 and exhibits a biological activity against tumor cells. The tumor cells are associated with either PSPC1 or protein tyrosine kinase 6 (PTK6), or both. The anti-tumor activity is at least one selected from the group consisting of: (a) suppressing tumor cell growth; (b) suppressing tumor cell progression; (c) suppressing tumor cell metastasis; (d) decreasing PSPC1 expression; and (e) decreasing oncogenic PTK6 expression in cytoplasm. Also disclosed is a peptide comprising a C-terminal fragment sequence of PSPC1. A reagent kit and method for predicting tumor progression, metastasis, and prognosis in a cancer patient are also disclosed.
