    摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods, and software for generating spatially-coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) codes. A method for generating SC-LDPC codes includes generating one or more quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes, and also includes assigning at least one of the generated one or more QC-LDPC codes as one or more template codes. The method further includes copying at least a portion of the one or more template codes to introduce irregularity. The method also includes shifting one or more template codes on a sub-block basis to generate at least one SC-LDPC code. As compared to known LDPC code generation modalities, the disclosed invention provides a simplified technique for implementation in streamlined hardware which has more general applicability across both present, and anticipated, communication systems, including those adapted for use with optical communications, wireless communications, and 5G as well as future 6G.

    摘要: Methods and systems are described that enable three-dimensional (3D) imaging of objects. One example system includes a light source that produces multiple light beams having specific spectral content and polarization states. The system also includes phase masks that modify the intensity or phase of the light, and projection optics that allow simultaneously projection of at least three fringe patterns onto an object having particular phase, polarization and spectral characteristics. The detection system includes a camera that simultaneously receives light associated with the at the fringe patterns upon reflection from the object, and a processing unit coupled to the camera unit that determines one or both of a phase or a depth information associated with the object. The system and associated methods can efficiency produce 2D images of the object and allow determination of characteristics such as surface profile. The disclosed systems and methods can be effectively implemented with moving objects.

    摘要: Sulfur copolymers and methods of synthesizing said sulfur copolymers are described herein. Sulfur monomers copolymerize with epoxide or vinylic moieties the epoxy-functionalized styrenic comonomers to form a crosslinked network of the sulfur copolymer. Sulfur copolymers having high sulfur content are used as raw materials in 3D printing. Chalcogenide-based copolymers can utilize selenium to provide for the optical properties. Using an inverse vulcanization method, chalcogenic sulfur copolymers are used to prepare chemically stable polymer plastic materials with tunable optical and thermochemical properties. Optical substrates, such as films, waveguides, and molded (nano-, micro-) objects and lenses, are constructed from sulfur copolymers via 3D printing and are substantially transparent in the visible and infrared spectrum.

    摘要: A tiled head-mounted display device, comprising: an optical component including a plurality of prisms with free-form surfaces, each prism being a wedge prism comprising a first optical surface, a second optical surface and a third optical surface; and a display component including a plurality of micro-displays, wherein the number of the micro-displays and the number of the prisms with free-form surfaces is identical. The tiled head-mounted display device according to the present invention is compact and light, provides wide field of view and high resolution, especially for the optical tiling head-mounted display device, the exit pupil planes of each display channels are coincident, thus avoiding pupil aberration and keeping exit pupil diameter and eye clearance same as the single ocular. There is no resolution variance throughout the entire field of view, thus preventing extra trapezoid distortion. The tiled head-mounted display device according to the present invention can be readily applicable to augmented environments applications by simply adding an auxiliary free-form lens behind the free-form prism.

    摘要: A missile guidance method that applies a curvature parameterization to a line-of-sight unit vector between a missile and a target. A line-of-sight rotation rate is derived from the line-of-sight unit vector with the applied curvature parameterization. In some embodiments, the curvature parameterization is learned by a deep learning network (e.g., a deep neural network that includes a recurrent layer). The deep neural network may be optimized using meta reinforcement learning over an ensemble of engagement scenarios with varying target behavior.
