摘要: Disclosed herein are bi-spring surgical impact tools and methods of use thereof. The bi-spring surgical impact tools can include a housing, a shuttle, a pinion, and first and second springs. The housing can define a cavity having a first end and a second end. The shuttle can be located within the cavity and define a plurality of indentations. The pinion can be located proximate the shuttle and have a plurality of protrusions sized to mesh with the plurality of indentations during rotation of the pinion. The first and second springs can be mechanically coupled to the housing and the shuttle. Rotation of the pinion in a first direction can translate the shuttle in a first direction towards the first end of the housing and rotation of the pinion in a second direction can translate the shuttle in a second direction towards the second end of the housing.

The orthopedic impact tools can include a housing, a tube assembly, a reverse impact plate, an anvil and an impact mechanism. The housing can include a hand grip portion and an impact mechanism housing portion. The tube assembly can include a first tube portion and a second tube portion. The reverse impact plate can be disposed in between the first tube portion and the second tube portion. The anvil can include a forward impact surface. The impact mechanism can include a motor, a piston, a ram, and a rotary to linear conversion mechanism drivingly connecting the motor to the piston. The piston can be disposed within the first tube portion and the ram can be disposed in the second tube portion and movable into contact between the reverse impact plate and the forward impact surface.

摘要: The present invention relates generally to implants and tools for the fixation or fusion of joints or bone segments. These tools include tissue dilators and protectors. Other tools include broaches used to shape bores in bone. The tools can also include a system for removing an implant from bone. Implants can include assemblies of one or more implant structures that make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. Implants for fusing both sacroiliac joints of a patient include a long implant that extends across both sacroiliac joints.

摘要: A tool and an associated method for removing a prosthetic implant includes a lateral tool, a first impact tool secured to the lateral tool, a medial tool, and a second impact tool. Although the tool can be used to remove a variety of different prosthetic implants, it finds particular application in the removal of femoral implants. Both lateral and medial tools are utilized. The lateral tool includes a generally arcuate shape with upstanding sidewalls that define an arcuate interior. The lateral tool is thus dimensioned to follow the contour of the lateral side of a femoral implant. The medial tool includes opposing side walls that define an interior opening. The opening is sized to receive the neck of the femoral implant, thereby allowing the tool to closely follow the medial bone/implant interface.

摘要: Sterile connectors for robotic or robot-assisted surgery and related systems and methods can be used to establish a sterile barrier between a non-sterile robot arm and a surgical site. More particularly, a sterile connector can include a first component connector to couple to a distal end of a robot arm, a second component connector to couple to an end effector, and a sterile drape extending from the sterile connector. The sterile drape can drape the robot arm and can maintain a sterile barrier around the robot arm throughout the course of a surgical procedure. In this manner, an end effector can be swapped out during the procedure without the need to re-drape or re-establish the sterile surgical field. In some embodiments, the sterile connector can facilitate the passage of electrical signals and/or light between the sterile connector and at least one of the robot arm and end effector.

摘要: A self-drilling bone fusion screw apparatus is disclosed which includes at least first and second sliding boxes. A first screw member having a tapered end and a threaded body is disposed within the first sliding box, and a second screw member having a tapered end and a threaded body disposed within the second sliding box. An adjuster adjusts the height of the sliding boxes. The screw members are screwed into vertebral bodies in order to fuse the vertebral bodies together. A plurality of the self-drilling bone fusion screw apparatuses may be attached together and/or integrated via a plate or cage. Also disclosed is a cervical facet staple that includes a curved staple base and at least two prongs attached to the bottom surface of the curved staple base.
