摘要: A method and system provide the ability to deliver media content. A packager receives an original encrypted transport stream, and segments the stream into multiple fixed-duration transport stream files (chunks). The packager further generates a manifest file that describes the chunks and is consistent with a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) live streaming (HLS) protocol. The manifest file and chunks are delivered to a content delivery network (CDN). An enhanced HLS client is embed in an integrated receiver decoder (IRD). The enhanced HLS client retrieves the manifest file and the chunks from the CDN, and reconstructs the original encrypted transport stream for use by a service provider network.

摘要: A method for transcoding a digital video stream that includes transcoding using a transcoder a video stream that includes presentation time stamps for the video stream together with an audio stream that includes presentation time stamps for the audio stream in a manner that modifies the presentation time stamps for the video stream in a manner such that a plurality of first values for presentation time stamps for a first set of video frames of the video stream are modified to a plurality of second values for presentation time stamps for the second set of video frames. The audio stream includes embedded first values for presentation time stamps in a first location. The method includes determining an offset of the second values of the second set of presentation time stamps of the transcoded video stream based upon the first values of the set of presentation time stamps embedded in the audio stream from the transcoder. The method includes combining the transcoded video stream and an associated audio stream based upon the offset. Preferably, the transcoder also modifies the audio time stamps. Preferably, the audio stream includes the embedded first values. Preferably, the offset is determined by taking the diff between the audio PTS in the PES and the embedded PTS in the audio packet (private data or embedded in the audio frame).

摘要: An apparatus, system, method, and computer-readable recording medium for automatic routing of an audio output using a smart media device (SMD), which includes receiving a request for audio content or audio and visual content, obtaining the audio content or the audio and visual content requested, and determining a power state of an audio/video (AV) output device. If the power state is determined to be ON, the audio content or the audio and visual content is automatically routed to the AV output device, and if the power state is determined to be OFF, the audio content is automatically routed to the SMD for output. If the power state is determined to be OFF and the request is for audio and visual content, the power state of the AV output device is controlled ON, and the audio and visual content is routed to the AV output device.

摘要: A method is provided for validating an inventory of files in a file system of a customer premises equipment (CPE). The method includes developing a database containing a file system inventory of a validated CPE operating in different scenarios or under different operating conditions that may include different networks, different service provider configurations and different end user feature settings. The validated CPE will be allowed to operate in these different scenarios so that an inventory of files and their attributes may be obtained at different times, such as after a reboot, after a change in software feature configurations, and so on. A file system inventory of a CPE system under test is obtained and each entry in the inventory is compared to the entries in the validated file system database to identify unexpected discrepancies.
