    Abstract: A sensor system for determining glucose concentration in a tear fluid sample includes a working electrode including an immobilized glucose oxidase enzyme portion for reacting with glucose in the tear fluid sample, and a selectivity portion for enhancing the selectivity for glucose over electroactive interferent species in the tear fluid sample. Alternatively, a vessel for receiving the tear fluid sample may include the enzyme portion on an inner wall thereof. A reference electrode is disposed adjacent the working electrode, wherein the electrochemical reaction of the enzyme portion with glucose in the tear fluid sample generates a current related to the glucose concentration in the tear fluid sample.

    Abstract: A method for electroplating a substrate having an aluminum alloy surface comprises: applying a zinc layer onto the aluminum alloy surface; electroplating a first copper layer onto the zinc layer from an alkaline copper electroplating solution; electroplating a second copper layer onto the first copper layer from an acid copper electroplating solution; electroplating a Cu—Sn alloy layer onto the second copper layer from a Cu—Sn electroplating solution; and electroplating a chromium layer onto the Cu—Sn alloy layer from a trivalent chromium solution.     Abstract: A mechanism is provided for invoking multi-library application on a multiple processor system, wherein the multiple processor system comprises a Power Processing Element (PPE) and a plurality of Synergistic Processing Element (SPE). Applications including multi-libraries run in the memory of the PPEs. The mechanism comprises maintaining the status of each SPE in the applications running on the PPE, where there are SPE agents for capturing the instructions from the PPE in the SPEs that have been started. In response to a request for invoking a library, the PPE determines whether the number of available SPEs for invoking the library is adequate based on the current status of SPEs. If the number of available SPEs is adequate, the PPE sends a run instruction to selected SPEs. After finishing the invocation of all libraries, the PPE sends termination instructions to all started SPEs.

    Abstract: System and methods are provided for performing privacy-preserving, high-performance, and scalable DNA read mapping on hybrid clouds including a public cloud and a private cloud. The systems and methods offer strong privacy protection and have the capacity to process millions of reads and allocate most of the workload to the public cloud at a small overall cost. The systems and methods perform seeding on the public cloud using keyed hash values of individual sequencing reads' seeds and then extend matched seeds on the private cloud. The systems and methods are designed to move the workload of read mapping from the extension stage to the seeding stage, thereby ensuring that the dominant portion of the overhead is shouldered by the public cloud.
