A rowing exercise machine comprises a base, a first swinging member, a second swinging member, a seat tube, a seat, a third swinging member, a first pulley, a second pulley, a pull cable, a hand grip, and two pedals. A rowing exercise is brought about by a person sitting on the seat of the rowing exercise machine, with the person's feet pedaling the pedals and the person's hands holding the hand grip to pull rearwards the pull cable to cause the first swinging member and the third swinging member to move closer so as to actuate the seat tube to move upwards and rearwards. As the pull cable is relieved of the pressure exerting thereon, the seat tube is caused by the person's weight to move forwards and downwards so as to actuate the first swinging member and the third swinging member to move away from each other in opposite directions.

A water-permeable and fire-resistant film and the preparing method thereof is disclosed. The water-permeable and fire-resistant film comprises polyurethane resin; a first fire-resistant agent; a second fire-resistant agent, an inorganic fire-resistant agent and an additive agent. The first fire-resistant agent used is selected from the group consisting of paraffine chlorinated, decabromodiphenyI oxide, hexachloro benzene, hexabromo benzene, pentabromo ethyl benzene, pentabromo diphenyl oxide and octabromo diphenyl ether. The second fire-resistant agent used is selected from the group consisting of Sb2O3 and Sb2OS. The surface of the film produced is smooth.

Abstract:
A mold assembly for a thermo-mold continuous casting apparatus which has a casting furnace and a thermo-mold chamber provided with an outlet. The assembly has a first mold member changeably or replaceably mounted within the thermo-mold chamber and being provided with a casting cavity and an enlarged cavity therein. A second mold member is mounted within the thermo-mold chamber and connected to the first mold member. The second mold member is provided with a cavity channel therein communicating with the enlarged cavity of the first mold member, and separating means in the cavity channel for separating the residual metal in the first and second mold members when the casting procedure in the thermo-mold continuous casting apparatus is stopped. An air inlet may be arranged on the thermo-mold chamber to introduce a protective air into the thermo-mold chamber upon changing the first mold member.

A process for the preparation of a 1,5-dideoxyazafuranose or 1,6-dideoxy-azapyranose is disclosed. In such a process, an azido-substituted .alpha.-ketose phosphate having a five- or a six-carbon chain is hydrogenated in the presence of a palladium catalyst. The carbon atom bearing the azido substituent and the carbon atom of the keto group of the .alpha.-ketose phosphate starting material are separated by two or three carbon atoms.

A permanent magnet alloy having at least one light rare earth element, iron and carbon. The alloy has a cellular microstructure of at least two solid phases with a Fe.sub.14 R.sub.2 C.sub.1 magnetically hard, tetragonal major phase surrounded by at least one minor phase. The light rare earth element may be Pr or Nd. At least one heavy rare earth element, such as Dy, may be used. Boron may be included in the alloy. The alloy is produced by casting and heating to form the Fe.sub.14 R.sub.2 (C,B).sub.1 magnetically hard, tetragonal major phase.

A cup sleeve is capable of engagement with a cup lid when being sleeved around a cup. The cup lid has a sleeve engaging member. The cup sleeve includes a sleeve body formed with a receiving space for receiving the cup, and including a bottom portion, a top portion that is opposite to the bottom portion, a surrounding wall that extends from the bottom portion to the top portion, and a lid engaging unit that is formed on the surrounding wall that is proximal to the top portion for interlocking with the sleeve engaging member of the cup lid.
