An electric motor having a casing positioned between a head end cap and a tail end cap is provided. An output shaft passes through the head end cap and the tail end cap and a cooling fan is mounted for rotation relative to the output shaft. The electric motor includes a fluid distribution chamber adjacent the tail end cap, an inlet port for supply of fluid to the chamber, and a plurality of discharge apertures for distributing fluid from the chamber toward the cooling fan. The fluid distribution chamber facilitates the washing and cleaning of the electric motor.

A single substrate oxidation catalyst system including: a turbocharger adapter exhaust collector segment having a first end and a second end; a debris screen housing in fluid communication with the second end of the turbocharger adapter exhaust collector segment; and an oxidation catalyst substrate located in the in the second end of the turbocharger adapter exhaust collector segment, wherein the oxidation catalyst substrate slides into and out of position in the second end of the turbocharger adapter exhaust collector segment.

A gauge assembly defining an interior direction and an exterior direction includes a gauge faceplate having a plurality of indicators and a hub that is substantially opaque. The hub includes a hub reflective portion that generally faces toward the interior direction. The assembly additionally includes a pointer having a first portion adjacent the hub and a second portion spaced away from the hub. The pointer is operable to move relative to the gauge faceplate such that the second portion distinguishes between the plurality of indicators. The pointer is substantially opaque, and the second portion includes a pointer reflective portion that generally faces toward the exterior direction. Moreover, the assembly includes a light source that emits a light generally in the exterior direction. The light reflects from the hub reflective portion generally toward the pointer reflective portion. The light also reflects from the pointer reflective portion generally toward the exterior direction.

According to the present disclosure, a train comprising one or more locomotives coupled to one or more tenders, which contain at least one of an exhaust after-treatment or a waste heat recovery system and optionally one or more other locomotive subsystems, such as dynamic braking, energy storage, driven wheels, and fuel storage, is provided. Accordingly, the present disclosure may have one or more of the following advantages: a tender to house an exhaust after-treatment system thereby easing space constraints on the locomotive power traction car. Additionally, said tender may include a large fuel tank, waste heat recovery system, and energy storage, thereby providing the means to substantially decrease fuel consumption or increase power, both with the option of switching to a different fuel source.

A method and system are described for providing a streamlined method for using, for example, streaming media samples to promote and sell music, videos and related merchandise on the Internet in response to searches for entertainment related information. When a consumer enters an Internet search query that includes a Media Keyword, a corresponding media sample or sample set is identified for the consumer to select to receive as a stream or download onto the Consumer Device, along with search results pertaining to the requested information and purchasing options. The media sample or sample set is provided as a link in a web page containing search results generated for the consumer. The media sample link may be indicated on the web page as a preferred, personalized or sponsored search result.
Abstract:
The apparatus and method for preparing a polymeric structure from which a number of medical devices may be constructed is described. The structures are preferably formed from bioabsorbable materials using low temperature fabrication processes, whereby drugs or other bio-active agents are incorporated into or onto the device and degradation of the drugs or other agents during processing is minimized. The method includes preparing a solution of at least one bioabsorbable polymer and a solvent. The solution is then deposited onto a stage and converted into a structure. The solvent is evaporated from the structure. The dried solution forms a structure that is removed from the stage and further dried before being stored in an inert environment. Thereafter, a medical device such as a stent may be constructed from the structure.

An apparatus for communicating packets in a network environment is provided that includes a first network element that includes a first neighbor list, the first network element being coupled to a second network element and a third network element. The first network element is operable to receive a second neighbor list from the second network element and a third neighbor list from the third network element. The first network element is further operable to determine one or more overlaps provided by the second and third neighbor lists when compared to the first neighbor list, the first network element relaying an update that it receives based on the one or more overlaps.

A system and method for venting an on-board vehicle emissions treatment substance storage and distribution system that selectively dispenses an emissions treatment substance from a storage tank on the vehicle to an exhaust system of the vehicle include pressurizing the storage tank during engine operation and coupling the storage tank to the exhaust system upstream of an ammonia storage element to reduce and direct any escaping ammonia toward the rear of the vehicle away from a refueling location.

A system for generating optimized values for variable inputs to an animal production system. The system includes a simulator engine configured to receive a plurality of animal information inputs and generate a performance projection. At least one of the animal information inputs is designated as a variable input and at least one of the animal information inputs includes animal genotype information. The system further includes an enterprise supervisor engine configured to generate an optimized value for the at least one variable input wherein the optimized value is configured to optimize animal production based on the animal genotype information.
Abstract:
A plasma arc torch that includes a torch body having a nozzle mounted relative to a composite electrode in the body to define a plasma chamber. The torch body includes a plasma flow path for directing a plasma gas to the plasma chamber in which a plasma arc is formed. The nozzle includes a hollow, body portion and a substantially solid, head portion defining an exit orifice. The composite electrode can be made of a metallic material (e.g., silver) with high thermal conductivity in the forward portion electrode body adjacent the emitting surface, and the aft portion of the electrode body is made of a second low cost, metallic material with good thermal and electrical conductivity. This composite electrode configuration produces an electrode with reduced electrode wear or pitting comparable to a silver electrode, for a price comparable to that of a copper electrode.
