Abstract: A vertical pump features stationary bowl assembly, a rotating power transmission shaft, impellers and bottom wear-ring bearings. The stationary bowl assembly includes bowls, each bowl having a respective bowl bottom inside surface. The rotating power transmission shaft is configured to extend through the stationary bowl assembly. The impellers are arranged on the rotating power transmission shaft to rotate and draw material through the stationary bowl assembly, each impeller having a respective impeller bottom outside surface. Each bottom wear-ring bearing is arranged between the respective impeller bottom outside surface of each impeller and the respective bowl bottom inside surface of each bowl, made from a non-galling bearing material, and configured to maintain the alignment of the rotating power transmission shaft in relation to the stationary bowl assembly.

Abstract: An adjustable volume sampling system is disclosed for aseptically retrieving a sample volume of a fluid from an origination container. The system includes a sampling container. A cap is removably attached to the sampling container so as to close off the open top. The cap includes two ports. A first tube is attached to one of the ports. An elongated diptube extends through port into the sampling container and an upper end of the diptube is located inside a portion of the first tube. The diptube can be raised and lowered relative to the sampling container by pinching an stretching the first tube. Syringes are provided for expelling excess material from the sampling container.

Abstract: A contoured check valve disc features a pivot portion and a check valve portion. The check valve portion is attached to the pivot portion, and has two sides, a first side to respond to the fluid flow in a first direction and move the check valve portion away from a fluid opening to the one or more open positions depending on the fluid flow to allow the fluid to flow through the fluid opening, and a second and opposing side to respond to fluid flow in an opposite direction through the fluid opening and move the check valve portion towards the fluid opening to the closed position to seal the fluid opening and stop fluid flow. The check valve portion a near-sloped portion formed nearest to the pivot portion, having a near-sloped contoured surface curving away from the pivot point to a first point of inflection with a first curvature, and a far-sloped portion formed farthest from the pivot portion, having a far-sloped contoured surface curving away from the point of inflection towards a farthest point away from the pivot portion with a second curvature that is less curved or bent than the first curvature, the near-sloped portion and the far-sloped portion combining to form a combined surface having a contoured pressure/force distribution on the first side to respond to the fluid flow and move the check valve portion away from the fluid opening.

The electronic circuit board also includes a relay configured to respond to the control signaling, and turn the relay on/off.

Abstract: The present invention allows for a combination valve in a hydronic HVAC system that functions as an isolation valve; a check valve; and as a device for measuring fluid parameters, such as flow rate, pressure, and/or temperature, and also allows for the isolation valve to be configured in the field to be mounted either in a straight 180° or an angled 90° orientation, as well as at an intermediate angle. The new combination of isolation valve, check valve, with embedded sensors for flow rate, pressure, and/or temperature measurement provides a more compact product envelope that achieves space savings, e.g., by eliminating the need for separate components in an HVAC system, such as separate isolation valves, check valves, flow meters, pressure gages, and/or thermometers.

The selecting of the metal deposition procedure includes forming the metal by mixing metal powders that include a Nickel Alloy “A” in a specified mixed ratio with a pure Nickel powder “B” for depositing on the cast iron pump part.

The first spiral channels and the second spiral channels are configured to alternate every other row and column so as to form a matrix of alternating rows and columns of coiled hot and cold fluid pathways separated by alternating coiled walls that act as both fluid separators and conduits through which heat is transferred between the hot fluid and cold fluid.
