Abstract:
A polyfluoroalkyl alcohol, or a (meth)acrylic acid derivative thereof, represented by the following general formula: CnF2n+1(CH2CF2)a(CF2CF2)b(CH2CH2)cOR (R:H or (meth)acrylic acid group; n: 1-6; a: 1-4; b: 1-3; and c: 1-3). Polyfluoroalkyl alcohol (R: hydrogen atom) can be produced by reaction of fluoroalkyl iodide represented by the following general formula: CnF2n+1(CH2CF2)a(CF2CF2)b(CH2CH2)cI with N-methyl formamide, followed by hydrolysis in the presence of an acid catalyst, whereas polyfluoroalkyl alcohol (meth)acrylic acid derivative (R: (meth)acrylic acid group) can be produced by reaction of the polyfluoroalkyl alcohol with (meth)acrylic acid.
Abstract:
A decoder includes a first bank and a second bank. The first bank is supplied with dynamic control from a microcomputer via a data bus, and the second bank is supplied with static control data from the data bus via the data bus. The dynamic control data or the static control data is read from an address in the bank designated by an address signal. The dynamic control data read from the first bank and second bank is transferred to one of a plurality of registers designated by the address signal.
Abstract:
A battery-operated driver-drill (1) includes an epicycle reduction gear unit (8) which encases a switchover sleeve (26) having inner teeth (27) and outer teeth (28). The gear unit (8) is rotatably mounted on second and third internal gears (19, 20) and integrally slidably connected with a slide pate (37). By operating the slide plate (37), the switchover sleeve (26) may be slid between a first position, in which the slide plate (37) engages one of the second and third internal gears (19, 20) while engaging axial ridges (29) of a first gear case (5), and a second position, in which the slide plate (37) simultaneously engages both the second internal gear (19) and a first carrier (10) adjacent to the second internal gear (19) while disengaged from the axial ridges (2).
Abstract:
A method for electrochemical synthesis of a superconducting boron compound MgB2 which comprises the steps of preparing a powder mixture of magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and magnesium borate, drying the mixture by electrical heating at a temperature of 400° C. or below under an inert gas atmosphere, and further heating the mixture electrically at a temperature of 400° C. or above so that it is melted and undergoes chemical reaction.
Abstract:
A very small amount of copper chloride or zinc oxide is added to a mixture of magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride and magnesium borate, a mixed salt is melted under heat, electrodes are inserted into a molten salt and a metallic material employed as a cathode is electroplated with a magnesium diboride (MgB2) film.
Abstract:
A chain tension device for tensioning a cutting chain of a chain saw utilizing a guide bar having an outer periphery and a drive sprocket. The chain saw body supports the guide bar, the sprocket and a drive source. A cutting chain is wound around the sprocket and the outer periphery of the guide bar and a leaf spring is supported by the chain saw body and interposed between the guide bar and the sprocket. The leaf spring abuts and biases the guide bar away from the sprocket so as to apply automatically an appropriate amount of tension to the cutting chain.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a novel method of recovering valuable metals from an industrial by-product containing copper and arsenic and at least one metal selected from among lead, zinc, iron, silver and cadmium, said method comprising leaching the by-product with sulfuric acid in an SO.sub.2 gas atmosphere at a temperature of 70.degree. C. or higher in the presence of a solid sulfide to thereby precipitate copper selectively as copper sulfide while dissolving other metal or metals in the leach solution and then separating the copper containing precipitate from the leach solution, said leach solution containing substantially no copper.
Abstract:
An electric lawn mower may include a mower body including an electric motor, a cutting blade rotatably driven by the electric motor for mowing a lawn, and a battery mount configured to hold a battery where the electric motor is driven by electric power from the battery, and the battery is mountable on the battery mount at a mount position where the battery is positioned higher than the electric motor and rearward of an axis of the electric motor.
Abstract:
A wiper holder to which a wiper is attached has an attachment surface including a positioning boss configured to position the wiper by being passed through a positioning hole in the wiper, a positioning protrusion configured to position a first edge of the wiper, and a swage boss configured to receive a second edge of the wiper. The first edge of the wiper contacts the positioning protrusion to position the first edge of the wiper and the wiper is secured to the wiper holder by the swage boss being swaged while the positioning boss is passed through the positioning hole in the wiper and the second edge of the wiper being received by the swage boss.
Abstract:
A system stores identification information for identification of a part associated with installation information for designation of a position where the part is installed in a first apparatus; receives the identification information about the part to be read and transmits it by a second apparatus; and retrieves the received identification information from the storage unit, and generates a first composite image by combining installation information corresponding to the retrieved identification information with an image of the first apparatus.
