摘要: An easily cleaned and/or sterilized fluid pumping assembly including a first pump housing including a first inner chamber. The first pump housing includes a fluid access port adapted to provide fluid communication between an outside of the first pump housing and the first inner chamber. Also, included is a second pump housing having a first coupling flange securely mated to the first pump housing. The second pump housing includes a second coupling flange adapted to be removeably and securely mated to a third coupling flange on a piston housing. Additionally, a flexible diaphragm is provided disposed between the first and second pump housings. The diaphragm is in fluid communication with the first inner chamber. Also, the diaphragm is displaceable by a driven piston for expelling fluid from the first inner chamber. More than one such assembly is used in combination to provide a constant flow fluid delivery system.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for implementing hierarchical scheduling of oversubscribed virtual paths with underutilized bandwidth that works for both ATM (cell) and IP (frame) scheduling. A scheduler includes a first calendar for pipes and autonomous flows and a second calendar for pipe flows. A winner of a pipe or an autonomous flow is identified from the first calendar. Responsive to an identified winner pipe, a pipe queue is checked for an associated pipe flow for the winner pipe. Responsive to identifying an empty pipe queue for the winner pipe, a pipe win credit is assigned to the pipe without reattaching the winner pipe to the first calendar. Then a next winner is identified from the first calendar. When a winner pipe flow is identified from the second calendar and the pipe win credit is assigned to the pipe for the winner pipe flow, then the winner pipe flow is serviced without delay.

摘要: A method and system for compensating for wheel wear uses position and/or speed information from an independent positioning system to measure some distance over which the train has traveled. Wheel rotation information is also collected over the distance. The wheel rotation information and distance and/or speed information are then used to determine the size of the train wheels. The method is performed periodically to correct for changes in wheel size over time due to wear so that the wheel rotation information can be used to determine train position and speed in the event of a positioning system failure.

摘要: An end of train unit includes a positioning system such as a GPS receiver and is configured to transmit a message including the EOT unit's location when the EOT unit detects a loss of air pipe pressure and/or it is tipped over and/or a low battery condition is detected. In highly preferred embodiments, the EOT unit periodically re-transmits the message until an acknowledgment message is received. In some embodiments, information from the positioning system is used to create a signal as a substitute for a motion sensor. In other embodiments, information from the positioning system is used to determine the speed of the end of the train. End of train unit tracking is also performed.

摘要: Apparatus and method for flexible digital halftoning are provided in which novel pattern choices are allowed by not restricting the basic halftone patterns to grow sequentially. Rather, positions in a threshold array allow multiple transitions between on (i.e., printed with toner/ink) and off (not printed) as a function of the input value at the corresponding position. In one embodiment, multiple threshold matrices are employed and the output decision is a vote (e.g., exclusive OR) of the outputs of the individual threshold matrices. In another embodiment, each position contains an arbitrary bit vector to express the output for each input. This flexibility in growing basic halftone patterns allows the number of densities output to be larger than n+1 (where “n” is the number of dots within a basic halftone cell).
