Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for implementing a water saving mechanism. In one aspect, a reservoir is provided to collect cold water while hot water is being heated. Once a desired temperature is reached, a valve is actuated to allow water to bypass the reservoir and be dispensed through a shower head. The reservoir can be used to dispense the cold water at a later time.
Abstract:
An inflatable apparatus, for use in supporting a device such as a sex toy, the inflatable apparatus comprising: an inflatable portion which serves as a main structural element of the apparatus; a holding portion which extends into the inflatable portion, and which defines a holding aperture bounded by a holding surface, the holding surface being adapted for frictional engagement with a device inserted into the holding aperture, wherein the holding portion is adjustable such that such frictional engagement can be adjusted.
Abstract:
A connection between an annular sleeve on a gas turbine engine first rotor component includes an annular tapered conical slot extending axially inwardly into the sleeve from an annular opening and tapers axially into the sleeve from the opening. An annular rim of a second rotor component is received within the conical slot and includes a rim inner conical surface mating with and contacting a sleeve inner conical surface in part bounding the conical slot. A sleeve cylindrical outer surface in part bounds the conical slot in the sleeve and a rim outer cylindrical surface on the annular rim contacts the sleeve cylindrical outer surface. An annular lip may extend radially inwardly from the sleeve and sleeve inner conical surface at the annular opening to the conical slot. The connection may be used between a first stage disk and an interstage seal.
Abstract:
Solvents for macromolecules generally believed to be insoluble in their pristine form are identified by generation of a ‘solvent resonance’ in the relationship between solvent quality (deduced by Rayleigh scattering) and an intrinsic property of solvents. A local extreme of the solvent resonance identifies the ideal intrinsic property of an ideal solvent which may then be used to select a particular solvent or solvent combination. A solvent for graphene is used in the production of transparent conductive electrodes.
Abstract:
A system and method for transforming ultrasound data includes acquiring ultrasound data, calculating object motion from the data, modifying a processing parameter, processing the ultrasound data according to the processing parameter, and outputting the processed ultrasound data. The system and method may additionally include the calculation of a data quality metric that can additionally or alternatively be used with object motion to modify a processing parameter.
Abstract:
The invention is directed at a method and system for flexible rate processing of ultrasound data. In one embodiment, the method includes acquiring ultrasound data at a data acquisition rate; setting an inter-frameset data rate; selecting frames from acquired ultrasound data to form a plurality of framesets, where the framesets are spaced according to the inter-frameset data rate; and processing the data at the controlled data rates. In another embodiment, the system includes a data acquisition controller that collects ultrasound data at an acquisition rate; a memory that stores the ultrasound data; and a data processor that selects framesets at an inter-frameset data rate, wherein a frameset is a set of frames selected from memory, performs processing on a frameset, and outputs processed data at a product rate.
