摘要: An elongated catheter device with a distal balloon assembly is adapted for endovascular insertion. Coolant injected through the device may, in different embodiments, directly cool tissue contacting the balloon, or may cool a separate internal chamber. In the first case, the coolant also inflates the balloon, and spent coolant is returned to the handle via a return passage extending through the body of the catheter. Plural balloons may be provided, wherein a secondary outer balloon surrounds a primary inner balloon, the primary balloon being filled with coolant and acting as the cooling chamber, the secondary balloon being coupled to a vacuum return lumen to serve as a robust leak containment device and thermal insulator around the cooling chamber. Various configurations, such as surface modification of the balloon interface, or placement of particles, coatings, or expandable meshes or coils in the balloon interface, may be employed to achieve this function.

摘要: The disclosure herein describes a modular rail for use in the assembly of a mobile filing and storage system that includes cabinets each equipped with a roller carriage in their lower part. The rail is a longitudinal metallic extrusion that has a cross-section that defines a first open side section adapted to receive therein one side of a floor structure over which the system is mounted, an intermediate second section adapted to receive thereon roller members of the system carriage and a third section that consists of a first groove adapted to receive levelling bolts for vertically adjusting the extrusion relative to a floor on which the system is supported and a second groove adapted to removably receive a cover adapted to extend over the first groove. The cover is removed when the rail is used for expanding the system.

摘要: Systems and methods for controllably variable fluid flow are disclosed that provide the ability to modify the effective cross-sectional area of the fluid delivery conduit available for fluid flow. Accordingly, selective control of these configurations allows fluid flow to be regulated as desired while the fluid delivery pressure remains the same. Additional configurations provided herein allow for the selective manipulation of a footprint or therapeutic pattern achievable with the medical device during a single procedure, negating the need for the removal and insertion of multiple devices to achieve the same variations in treatment geometry or characteristics.
