    摘要: A method in a network node for transmitting an enhanced Control CHannel, eCCH, to a user equipment in a telecommunications system. The eCCH comprises control information to the user equipment in at least one Control Channel Element, CCE. The at least one CCE maps to a number of resource elements comprised in at least one enhanced resource element group. The at least one enhanced resource element group is comprised in at least one resource block in a time-frequency Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, grid. The network node decides to use a CCE aggregation level that is smaller than the smallest CCE aggregation level of a physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, for a first eCCH. The network node then modulates the first eCCH by using a higher order modulation than Quadrature Phase Shift Keying, QPSK, modulation, when the smaller CCE aggregation level is used for the first eCCH. Then, the network node maps the modulated first eCCH to the at least one enhanced resource element group of resource elements in the at least one resource block, and transmits the mapped first eCCH to the user equipment. A network node, a method in user equipment and a user equipment are also provided.

    摘要: A compression/decompression method for backhaul communication of a complex-valued radio signal between base stations and the network processing unit, such as a Central Processor of a Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP) system, significantly reduces backhaul bandwidth. The spatial and temporal correlations of the wireless IQ signal are exploited in order to remove redundancy and substantially reduce signal bandwidth. Feature component signals of significance are extracted through linear transformation to form the radio signal, and are individually quantized, possibly at different bit rates in accordance with their relative importance. The transformation can either be pre-determined or computed in real-time based on the spatial and temporal statistics of the radio signal. In the latter case, the transformation matrix or matrices are also sent over the backhaul in order to allow the radio signal to be reconstructed at the receiving end. Different methods of generating the transformation matrices are proposed.

The method includes modifying a size of a circular buffer where the coded bits are collected to avoid repetition of the coded bits in consecutive subset of the control channel elements allocated to the PDCCH. The size of the circular buffer is selected so that it is not equal to the number of coded bits output from the encoder. Coded bits can be deleted from or added to the coded bit sequence depending on the size of the circular buffer.

    摘要: A transmitter, channel coder, and method for coding and transmitting a sequence of symbols in a digital communication system utilizing soft pilot symbols. In one embodiment, the transmitter transmits a set of soft pilot symbols with higher reliability than the remaining symbols in the sequence by modulating the soft pilot symbols with a lower order modulation such as BPSK or QPSK while modulating the remaining symbols with a higher order modulation such as 16 QAM or 64 QAM. The transmitter shares the modulation type and location (time/frequency/code) of the soft pilot symbols with a receiver. Unlike traditional fixed pilots, the soft pilots still carry some data. Additionally, the soft pilots are particularly helpful in establishing the amplitude reference essential in demodulating the higher order modulation symbols. In another embodiment, soft pilot symbols are inserted by low-level puncturing of channel encoded bits and replacing the punctured bits with known bit patterns.

The REC may be Frequency Domain Duplex (FDD) or Time Domain Duplex (TDD). The REC may be dedicated to a main downlink carrier, or may be shared across a plurality of aggregated component carriers. The REC may be transmitted from the same base station as one or more associated main carriers, or from a different base station. A shared REC may be operated in cooperative or contention modes. The REC may be implemented in unlicensed spectrum.

    摘要: A wireless communication receiver improves signal impairment correlation estimation in MIMO/MISO systems by considering different transmit power allocations and different transmit antenna power distributions in its impairment correlation calculations. The receiver may be implemented in according to a variety of architectures, including, but not limited to, Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) Generalized RAKE (G-RAKE), Joint Detection (JD) G-RAKE, and Minimum Mean Squared Error (MMSE) G-RAKE. Regardless of the particular receiver architecture adopted, the improved impairment correlations may be used to calculate improved (RAKE) signal combining weights and/or improve channel quality estimates for reporting by receivers operating in Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) systems transmitting HSDPA channels via MIMO or MISO transmitters. A transmitter may be configured to facilitate impairment correlation determinations by wireless communication receivers operating in MIMO/MISO environments, by signaling one or more values, e.g., data-to-pilot signal transmit power ratios and/or transmit antenna power distributions for the data and pilot signals.
