    Abstract: A radar detection system for activation of a powered closure member of a vehicle and corresponding method are provided. The system includes a radar sensor assembly having a radar transmit antenna for transmitting radar waves and a radar receive antenna for receiving the radar waves after reflection from an object in a detection zone. The radar sensor assembly outputs a sensor signal corresponding to the motion of the object in the detection zone. An electronic control unit is coupled to the radar sensor assembly and includes a data acquisition module to receive the sensor signal and a plurality of analysis modules to analyze the sensor signal to detect extracted features and determine whether extracted features are within predetermined thresholds representing a valid activation gesture. The electronic control unit initiates movement of the closure member in response to the extracted features being within the predetermined thresholds representing the valid activation gesture.

    Abstract: An automated retractable step system has at least one linkage subassembly for attachment to a vehicle frame. A step is attached to the linkage subassembly and is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. An actuator is coupled with the linkage subassembly for moving the step between the stowed and deployed positions. A sensor subassembly includes a sensing electrode and a reference electrode disposed adjacent to the sensing electrode and a driven shield electrode extending generally parallel to and in a spaced relationship with the sensing electrode and the reference electrode. A controller is electrically connected to the sensing electrode and to the reference electrode and to the driven shield electrode. The controller is also electrically connected to the actuator for controlling the actuator to move the step between the stowed position and the deployed position in response to the signal from the sensor subassembly.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a closure latch assembly for a vehicle door, and more particularly to a closure latch assembly for a vehicle door equipped with a non-powered reset feature. A power actuator actuates an actuatable mechanism in a power-on state, and a reset mechanism to reset the actuatable mechanism when the power actuator is in a power-off state. The reset mechanism is directly coupled to a motor shaft of an electric motor associated with the power actuator. The reset mechanism includes a pulley biased to a rest position by a spring, and a drive cable wrapped around the pulley and the motor shaft. Actuation of the motor winds the cable around the motor shaft and rotates the pulley against its bias. In the power-off state, the pulley rotates back to the rest position and unwinds the cable from the motor shaft, rotating the shaft and resetting the motor.

    Abstract: A latch assembly for providing travel of a closure panel of a vehicle away from a latch during a collision event, the latch assembly compromising: a mounting plate of the latch for mounting a set of latch components thereon including a ratchet coupled to a pawl for retaining and releasing a mating latch component with respect to a slot of the latch, the mating latch component mounted to the closure panel, the latch components further including a secondary catch, the mounting plate connected to a body of the vehicle; a support plate coupled to the mounting plate by a support connector, the support connector providing a sliding connection between the support plate and the mounting plate along an axis; a blocking member mounted to one of the support plate and the mounting plate, such that engagement of the blocking member limits relative displacement between the support plate and the mounting plate along the axis; an actuation system mounted on the support plate, the actuation system for moving by the travel the closure panel between a primary latched position and a secondary latched position during actuation of the actuation system; wherein disengagement of the blocking member subsequent to the actuation of the actuation system provides for the relative displacement between the support plate and the mounting plate along the axis opposite to the direction of the travel of the closure panel.

A waveguide is provided in communication with the at least one auxiliary motor and in sonic resonance with sound produced by the auxiliary motor to amplify and/or to modify the audible sound.

    Abstract: An adjustable window regulator lift plate assembly for a vehicle window includes a base and a window holder. The window holder is secured to the base via a part-in-assembly fastener that extends through an aperture in the base and into an aperture formed in an inner leg of the window holder. The window holder may receive and secure a window, and the fastener may be inserted through the window holder and into a fastener plate disposed on an outer leg of the window holder. The window holder includes a curved inner surface on the inner leg, and the base includes a curved outer surface that contacts the inner leg. The window holder may be shifted and pivoted relative to the base. The fastener may be tightened to secure the window holder relative to the base in a desired pivoted position.

    Abstract: An active hinge including a hood bracket for attachment to a vehicle hood and a body bracket for attachment to a vehicle body. A deploy bracket is pivotally attached to the hood bracket and the body bracket. The hood bracket is pivotable relative to the deploy bracket between a non-deployed position and a deployed position. At least one link interconnects, and is pivotally connected to the deploy bracket and the body bracket. A pawl is pivotally mounted to one of the hood bracket, the body bracket, the deploy bracket, and the at least one link. A bolt for engagement by the pawl is connected to another of the hood bracket, the body bracket, the deploy bracket, and the at least one link. An actuator is provided for disengaging the pawl from the bolt to allow the deploy bracket to move relative to the hood bracket and the body bracket.

    Abstract: A latch assembly for driving a closure panel from a closed panel position to an open panel position.     Abstract: An electronic control circuit with a backup energy source subassembly for an e-latch assembly and a method of operating the backup energy source subassembly are disclosed. The electronic control circuit includes a control unit including a computing module and a memory for electrically coupling to a plurality of sensors and to a main power source. The backup energy source subassembly is electrically coupled to the control unit for providing electrical energy to the electronic control circuit in response to one of a failure and interruption of the main power source. An output module is electrically connected to the backup energy source subassembly and to the main power source for driving an actuation group. The backup energy source subassembly includes a backup low voltage source and a boost-buck converter configured to selectively supply voltage to and selectively amplify voltage from the backup low voltage source.
