Abstract: A sealed dome switch assembly is provided to allow air to flow between the interior and the exterior of the dome switch during the collapse and recovery of the resilient dome shell. The sealed dome switch assembly comprises at least one vent leading between the interior space and the exterior space of the sealed dome switch, wherein the vent is covered by a membrane that is permeable to air and resilient to liquid (e.g. water) and small particles (e.g. dirt). A vent may also be used to network the interiors of a plurality of sealed dome switches to at least one exterior entranceway that is covered by the membrane.

Abstract: A piezoelectric assembly is described. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a piezoelectric assembly comprising: an electrode assembly; a signal electrical connector electrically connected to the electrode assembly; a reference electrical connector electrically connected to the electrode assembly; and a spacer positioned about a perimeter of the electrode assembly and disposed between the signal electrical connector and the reference electrical connector such that no electrical communication is provided between the signal electrical connector and the reference electrical connector through the spacer; wherein a humidity barrier space is defined between the signal electrical connector, the reference electrical connector and the spacer, and wherein the electrode assembly is disposed in the humidity barrier space.

Abstract: An arrangement (100) and method for sigma-delta analog-to-digital conversion by providing parallel translating sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (21, 22) and summing their outputs to produce a digital output signal having a bandwidth greater than that of the first or second translating sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (21, 22). The parallel translating sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (21, 22) use switching sequences arranged to cancel third and fifth harmonics in the digital output signal. Abstract: A Multi-Rate Analog-to-Digital Converter (19) is coupled to a single crystal oscillator (17) as a reference clock and has at least two separate channels arranged to sample and convert input data at two differing clock rates. Each channel derives a clock signal from the reference clock. Associated with each of the channels is a Sigma-Delta converter (10a, 10b) comprising a modulator (12), a filter (14) and a resampler (18). The modulator (12) receives input data and provides a data signal to the filter (14), which itself provides a filtered data signal to the associated data resampler. The data resampler resamples the data and provides a digital output signal. As there is sampling in the digital domain the advantages associated with signal processing, speed and low noise injection are obtained. Similarly as the output of the modulator (12) is in digital form, it can be manipulated and processed readily and with the existing software.
