摘要: Methods for producing layered structures that include a conductive polymeric layer and a dielectric polymeric layer. The dielectric polymeric layer can be formed by curing a first volume of a dielectric polymeric material. A second volume of the dielectric polymeric material is doped with conductive particulates to yield a conductive polymeric material, which is then partially cured and solvated to create a conductive polymeric paste. The paste is applied to a surface of the dielectric polymeric layer, dried, and cured to form a conductive polymeric layer on the pre-strained dielectric polymeric layer yielding a layered structure that includes the conductive polymeric layer and the dielectric polymeric layer. A pre-strain is induced in the dielectric polymeric material by contacting a chemical thereto that causes swelling therein.

摘要: An actuator device comprises an electroactive polymer (30) and a controller (34) for delivering a drive signal to the electroactive polymer to make it deform. The controller is adapted to generate a signal which comprises an AC component for introducing a vibration (40, 42) of the electroactive polymer. This vibration is used to reduce friction between the electroactive polymer and an adjacent component (32). The AC component may be superposed on a low frequency AC or DC drive level.

摘要: A piezoelectric element body has a first principal surface and a second principal surface. A pair of first electrodes is disposed on the first principal surface. The vibrating body includes a metal plate, an insulating layer, and a pair of second electrodes. The metal plate has a third principal surface and a fourth principal surface. The insulating layer is disposed on the third principal surface. The pair of second electrodes is disposed on the insulating layer. The piezoelectric element and the vibrating body are disposed in such a manner that the first principal surface and the third principal surface oppose each other via the insulating layer. The pair of second electrodes physically contacts the respective first electrodes. The second electrodes are exposed from the piezoelectric element and are separated from all of edges of the insulating layer, when viewed from a direction orthogonal to the third principal surface.
