Abstract:
A method for detecting and quantifying losses in at least one of video and audio equipment, comprising the steps of generating the test pattern; processing the test pattern through video equipment; and displaying the processed test pattern to a display to a viewer. In one embodiment, the test pattern is indicative of video compression losses due to quantization. In another embodiment, the test pattern is indicative of a color transformation mismatch after encoding/decoding with incompatible video transmission standards. In a third embodiment, the test pattern is iso-luminant after a color transformation between a first and second video transmission standard. In a fourth embodiment, the test pattern is indicative of lipsync error.
Abstract:
The invention discloses improved processes to halogenate polymers. In particular, the invention discloses to improved processes to halogenate polymers made from C4-1012 isoolefins.

The invention provides for polymerization processes to produce polymers utilizing boiling pool reactor systems and diluents including hydrofluorocarbons.
Abstract:
A hydrophobic coating composition comprising: (a) nanoparticles or precursors capable of forming nanoparticles; (b) microparicles; and (c) an organic solvent. The coating composition can be applied to a surface of a substrate to form a hydrophobic coating having both microscale and nanoscale roughness.
Abstract:
A computer (10) having a monitor housing (12) within which is affixed a logic module (24) having thereon a processor (36), a memory module (38), an internal power connector (39), a fixed disk drive (40), an internal data connector (41), and an external connector panel (46) all generally housed within a sheet metal housing (42) having therein a plurality of perforations (44) for allowing air from a fan assembly (30) to pass therethrough. A power supply (28) and monitor screen (14) are provided in the monitor housing (12) such that when the logic module (24) is mounted and electrically connected within the monitor housing (12) a generally complete computer (10) unit is provided. An auxiliary drive (16) is optionally provided and affixed to the logic module (24) such that the auxiliary drive (16) is externally accessible when the logic module (24) is affixed within the monitor housing (12).
Abstract:
Described are a positive airway pressure system and method for treatment of a sleeping disorder in a patient. The system includes a generator, a sensor and a processing arrangement. The generator supplies airflow and applies a pressure at to an airway of a patient. The sensor measures data corresponding to patient's breathing patterns. The processing arrangement analyzes the breathing patterns to determine whether the breathing patterns are indicative of at least one of the following patient's states: (i) a regular breathing state, (ii) a sleep disorder breathing state, (iii) a REM sleep state and (iv) a troubled wakefulness state. The processing arrangement adjusts the applied pressure as a function of the patient's state.
Abstract:
Described is a method and system for automated titration of CPAP. The system may include an air pressure supply providing air pressure to a patient's airways and a sensor detecting input data corresponding to a patient's breathing patterns of a plurality of breaths. The system also includes a titration device which receives and analyzes the input data to determine existence of breathing disorder and corresponding characteristics. The titration device generating output data for adjusting the air pressure supplied to the patient as a function of the characteristics of the breathing disorder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of growing a ZnO film using chemical vapour deposition (CVD), and to a ZnO film grown according to the method. The method includes providing a precursor in vapour form, the precursor substantially comprising Zn4O(O2CNRARB)6, where RA and RB are any combination of akyl or perfluoroalkyl groups, and decomposing at least some of the vapour at the surface of the substrate such that the film of zinc oxide forms. An advantage of using this precursor material is that, unlike in the prior art, no deliberate introduction of water vapour to improve christallographic orientation is required. Higher purities in oxide films are produced.
Abstract:
An interface, e.g., a modem-like interface for converting a digital information signal into an analog signal for use within an analog television studio infrastructure. Namely, the present invention employs a novel modulator that conveys compressed video data into analog video lines by creating an analog “video” signal that contains video gray-scale levels which correspond to digital data values, instead of containing an image.
