摘要: An image recognition method and device detects an object mark reliably even when the mark is defaced with a different color. RGB signals are transmitted to color extraction unit. The color extraction unit has a characteristic color extraction block to extract the characteristic color of the object mark. A binary image is generated from the extracted pixels which are the color of the mark and stored in storage device. A mark detection unit detects the location of the mark in the stored image data and an image extraction unit extracts the region where the mark is located and obtains a feature count. A matching unit compares the feature count with a reference pattern and finds the goodness of fit. A control unit subjects the goodness of fit value to threshold value processing to determine whether this is a nonreproducible document. If the mark has been defaced with black ink, the pixels constituting the mark are extracted by a likely color extraction block. A binary image is generated and stored in storage device. Thus, the defaced mark can undergo the same recognition processing as the normal mark, and both can be recognized.

摘要: It is an object of this invention to provide an image processing device which would be able to extract a specified pattern accurately even if there are fine lines in its periphery. The invention is configured as follows in order to achieve this object. The density data for R, G and B are transmitted to fine line processor. There a count is made of the number of pixels among the eight surrounding a center object pixel, which have density values within a fixed margin of the center object pixel. If there are three or fewer, the center object pixel is judged to be part of a line segment, and the determination flag 0 is output. If there are four or more, the center pixel is judged to be not part of a line segment, but a part of pattern. Once the object pixel is judged to be a part of a line segment, then a line removal device remove the object pixel from the image data in order to extract a specified pattern.

摘要: An input apparatus for computers is interposed between a keyboard and the computer. This apparatus comprises: an area designating device on which a desired visible information sheet having predetermined visible information can be disposed and which outputs a designation area signal indicative of the designated area of the visible information; a receiver to receive registration data comprising the area of the visible information and the key code of one or a series of plurality of keys corresponding to this area, the registration data being sent from an external system; a registering memory to store the registration data received by the receiver; a data fetching circuit to take out the corresponding key code from the registering memory by reference to the registration data in response to the designation area signal which is given from the area designating device; and a transmitter to transmit the fetched key code to the computer. With this apparatus, by previously making a desired visible information sheet and the registration data of the sheet, the registration data can be easily registered in the input apparatus, so that the operator can easily operate the input apparatus and input the key code to the computer by designating the area on the sheet.

摘要: A conveying device in which positional displacement of a sheet may occur due to, for example, backlash of a mechanical system is provided. In the conveying device, when the speed of an encoder is decelerated to a predetermined speed after an edge of a sheet abuts against a roller during conveyance of the sheet, an encoder position is obtained. After the roller stops due to the backlash, an encoder position is obtained again. An amount of conveyance of the sheet to a print start position is corrected on the basis of the two encoder positions that have been obtained.

摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus and method capable of appropriately preventing a printing medium from being diagonally conveyed upon feed regardless of changes in printing medium feed conditions. In this invention, the maximum output value of a PWM signal is compared with the sum of a predetermined bias value and the PWM signal when a sensor detects the tip of a fed printing medium. If the sum is smaller than the maximum output value, it is monitored that the value of the PWM signal increases by the bias value. If the sum is equal to or larger than the maximum output value, it is monitored that the conveyance speed of the printing medium becomes smaller than a predetermined threshold value. Control is performed on the basis of the monitor results to stop driving a DC motor that supplies a driving force to rollers used for feed and conveyance.

摘要: A conveying device which can determine whether an error occurred therein. When a transmission unit is in a transmission state, a sheet feed roller is driven by a DC motor to perform first driving for conveying a sheet up to a conveying roller. The occurrence of an error with respect to the sheet feed roller is determined based on information obtained from an encoder during the first driving. When the occurrence of an error is determined, second driving is performed. A conveyance error is determined based on a count value during the first driving and a count value during the second driving, which are both obtained from the encoder.
