Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for automated deployment of radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a request to provision a radio-based network for a customer by a provider according to a network plan is received via an application programming interface (API) of a cloud provider network. An arrangement of a plurality of cells for the customer is determined. Respective antennas and radio units for individual ones of the plurality of cells are preconfigured to implement the radio-based network before shipping the respective antennas and the radio units to the customer.

Abstract: Technology for content distribution in wireless mesh network is described. In one embodiment, the wireless mesh network includes a plurality of mesh nodes, wherein each of the mesh nodes includes a content agent configured to receive a content command from a cloud computing content management service communicatively coupled to the wireless mesh network, the content command identifying one or more segments of a media content file corresponding to a media title to be stored on the mesh node. Each mesh node includes a storage system configured to store the one or more segments of the media content file specified in the content command. Each mesh node further includes a content server configured to service requests for playback of the media title from one or more mesh clients. The mesh nodes also include a mesh communication component configured to communicate with other mesh nodes in the wireless mesh network to retrieve segments of the media content file stored on the other nodes.

Abstract: A wireless device includes a radio, a first directional antenna, a second directional antenna, an omnidirectional antenna, and a switch selectively coupled between the radio and the first directional antenna, the second directional antenna, and the omnidirectional antenna. A processor is coupled to the switch and to, for a frame: determine, based on an arbitration table, a destination medium access control address of a client wireless device and identifiers of antennas for transmitting the frame and receiving acknowledgement data; cause the switch to couple the radio to the first directional antenna; transmit the frame to the client wireless device via the first directional antenna, wherein the first client wireless device is located along a first direction with respect to the wireless device; cause the switch to couple the radio to the omnidirectional antenna; and receive an acknowledgment, corresponding to the frame, from the client wireless device via the omnidirectional antenna.

Abstract: A mesh network device includes a content repository including a first section to store original data and a second section to store cached data, and an application processor including a user space, kernel space, and an on-path data caching engine. The on-path data caching engine is to receive, from a second mesh network device, data frames via a data link layer of a TCP/IP mesh network. The data frames include audio or video content. The on-path data caching engine is further to store the data frames in a socket kernel buffer, determine that a third mesh network device is a destination for the data frames, and forward the data frames to the third mesh network device. The on-path data caching engine is to determine that the audio or video content is to be cached and asynchronously copy the audio or video content to the second section of the content repository.

Abstract: In an implementation, an electronic device may obtain a configuration file from a device provider. The configuration file may include settings of a number of communications providers for communicating over a wireless wide area network. A subscriber identification module (SIM) card may include information, such as a communications provider identifier, that is utilized to determine the settings for a modem of the electronic device. Configuring the modem of the electronic device according to the settings may cause the modem to communicate over the wireless wide area network according to specifications of a particular communications provider of the plurality of communications providers.
