摘要: Various device embodiments comprise a pulse generator, a signal processing module and a controller. The pulse generator is adapted to provide a neural stimulation signal to be applied at a neural simulation site within an autonomic nervous system (ANS). The signal processing module is adapted to receive and process sensed neural traffic at a neural sensing site within the ANS. The controller is connected to the pulse generator and adapted to provide a neural stimulation control signal to the pulse generator to generate the neural stimulation signal, and to the signal processing module to receive a feedback control signal indicative of the sensed neural traffic. The controller is adapted to adjust the neural stimulation control signal to adjust at least one parameter of the neural stimulation signal to converge on desired sensed neural traffic at the neural sensing site. Other aspects and embodiments are provided herein.

摘要: A pacing system provides for optimal hemodynamic cardiac function for parameters such as ventricular synchrony or contractility (peak left ventricle pressure change during systole or LV+dp/dt), or stroke volume (aortic pulse pressure) using system for calculating atrio-ventricular delays for optimal timing of a ventricular pacing pulse. The system deriving the proper timing using electrical or mechanical events having a predictable relationship with an optimal ventricular pacing timing signal. A look-up table relating the timing of such electrical or mechanical events to atrioventricular delay time intervals is provided for programming the pacing system.

摘要: A system and method for providing emergency conditional credit to a customer of a financial institution. The system includes a customer site and a financial institution. The financial institution determines actuarial data using past history of customers incurring specified events, the actuarial data useable to predict future specified events, determines a cost for offering an emergency reserve (ER) product using the actuarial data, determines a qualification standard for the ER product, and offers the ER product to a person at the customer site. An emergency reserve protection (ERP) feature that provides protection that cancels any ER balance on a monthly basis during a covered event may also be offered to customers. One or more vendor sites may be used to handle some of the processing or managing of the ER and ERP product offerings.

摘要: Systems and methods resist posterior movement of both the tongue and the soft palate/uvula during sleep, thereby keeping an airway open. The systems and methods employ first, second, and third structures. The first structure is sized and configured for placement in or on a tongue. The second structure is sized and configured for placement in or on a region of a soft palate or uvula. The third structure is sized and configured for placement in or on tissue in a desired relationship. anterior of the first and second structures. The first and second structures each includes a ferromagnetic material. The third structure includes a magnetic material that magnetically interacts with both the first and second ferromagnetic materials by attracting both the first and second ferromagnetic materials, thereby resisting posterior movement of both the tongue and the soft palate/uvula.
