    Abstract: A network, e.g. a New Radio network operating in the unlicensed spectrum, may reserve resources for the purpose of UE(s) performing a random access procedure (RACH) on the network. The network may indicate the resource reservation to the UE(s) in information transmitted to the UE(s) via signaling. The UE(s) may receive the information indicative of the resource reservation and may subsequently perform a RACH using the reserved resources indicated in the information received by the UE(s). The information or at least a portion of the information may be received in an initial signal, in a slot format indicator as part of downlink control information (DCI), in a wideband demodulation reference signal, in a radio network temporary identifier, and/or in radio resource control signaling.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing the use of pre-emptive buffer status reports (pre-BSRs) in wireless communications systems implementing integrated access and backhaul (IAB) networks are disclosed herein. In some cases, an IAB node can re-classify the LCGs of one or more incoming data flows according to such pre-BSR usage. This may involve the use of and extended medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) having more LCG bits than previously contemplated, having sub-LCG bits, or that includes further LCG classification information bits. Other embodiments use a priority index for LCGs in an extended pre-BSR MAC CE. The priority index may include one or more of a priority field, a prioritized bit rate (PBR), and/or a bucket size duration (BSD) that is reported to an IAB donor. Other embodiments leverage the provision of additional grants from an IAB node to a child IAB node to reduce unwanted pre-BSR effects.

    Abstract: A system for determining and reporting user equipment (UE) time gap requirement information for performing a measurement on a reference signal provided by a target base station. A UE receives a radio resource control (RRC) message from a current base station to modify a current RRC connection. The RRC configuration message may comprise sub carrier spacing (SCS) information of one or more target frequency bands of at least one target base station. The UE may then determine gap information based at least in part on the received SCS information of the one or more target frequency bands. The gap information may indicate whether a gap is needed in performing measurements on a reference signal transmitted at each of the one or more target frequency bands. The UE then transmits the gap information to the current base station.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device and a cellular base station to support common analog beam steering for band groups. The wireless device may provide an indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device to the cellular base station. For example, the wireless device may support a limited number of analog beams for each of one or more band groups. The cellular base station may select beam configuration information for the wireless device based at least in part on the indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device. This may include selecting a common beam for multiple component carriers for the wireless device based on the wireless device’s analog beam steering capability. The cellular base station may provide the beam configuration information to the wireless device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for small data transmissions (SDTs) between a user equipment (UE) and a network are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the UE determines whether to perform an SDT procedure by comparing its own mobility state to an SDT mobility state condition provided by the network. The UE may also determine whether to perform the SDT procedure by comparing the size of user plane (UP) data to be sent with the SDT procedure to an SDT mobility-based data amount threshold provided by the network. Upon entering an RRC_INACTIVE state, the UE may start a validity timer relative to any such SDT mobility state condition and/or SDT mobility-based data amount threshold, and invalidate these once the validity timer expires. In some disclosed embodiments, the UE reports its determined mobility state to the network during an SDT procedure so that the network can accordingly select configuration parameters for SDT procedures.
