摘要: A method, apparatus, and system for managing network devices is disclosed. The method preferably includes the steps of monitoring for a change to the value of one or more local resource properties associated with the managed network device; generating a learning event report comprising the value of at least one of the one or more local resource properties; and transmitting the learning event report to a central data store. At the central data store, the value of the one or more local resource properties are recorded and made available to the network management system for asynchronous processing. The central data store is preferably a directory server. The apparatus preferably includes a local resource manager for monitoring the value of one or more local resource properties; detecting the changes to one or more local resource properties; generating one or more learning event reports including the changes to the local resource properties; and transmitting the one or more learning event reports to the central data store. The invention reduces the burden on the network management system to regularly poll the numerous devices under management while improving accuracy.

摘要: A system and method for providing a fault tolerant vehicle dynamics control (VDC) is described. The system includes a fault tolerance module that receives an indication of a fault in at least one of the actuators of the VDC and selects a fault compensation mode to maintain the stability of the motor vehicle in light of the received fault indication. The fault tolerance module proceeds by diagnosing at least one fault in at least one of the actuators, selecting a fault compensation mode based on the detected at least one fault and the driving condition, and compensating for the at least one fault by optimally controlling remaining operable actuators according to the fault compensation mode.

摘要: A multi-stage verification system including a first and second identification device to verify the identity of the user and to determine if the user is under duress. When a user approaches an entrance to a building, a first identifier is detected by the first identification device, the identifier is compared to a pre-stored identifier. If there is a match, the user inputs at least one biometric input into the second identification device. The biometric input is compares with pre-stored information in two different databases, a biometric template database and a duress indicator database. If there is a match with the duress indicator database, a silent alarm signal is transmitted to a central monitoring station and the security system is disarmed. If there is a match with the biometric template database, the security system is controlled in the intended manner.

摘要: The present invention provides systems and methods that allow one or more quasi-persistent HTTP connections to be established between a client computer and server computer. The quasi-persistent HTTP connection(s) allow(s) data to be transferred between the client computer and the server computer without having to repeatedly set up and then terminate a HTTP connection between the client computer and the server computer each time the client computer and the server computer have data to send to one another. Two or more quasi-persistent HTTP connections can be established between a client computer and a server computer to form a bi-directional connection between the client computer and the server computer. The bi-directional connection significantly improves the speed and the efficiency of data transfer between the client computer and the server computer.

摘要: A monitoring system having a plurality of receivers connected to at least one other receiver such that data can be transmitted from a primary receiver to a backup receiver if a data path to an automation computer or to its printer is down. The system programs a primary data path and at least one backup data path. The system detects an error in the primary data path and determines if a backup receiver's data path is operational. The system automatically transmits data received by a primary receiver to a pre-selected backup receiver based upon an error flag. This allows for each receiver to process calls even though its primary path to the automation system or printer is down or malfunctioning.

摘要: A monitoring receiver having a memory, a control section, a counter and transmitting and receiving section. An operator can input a blocking time period, blocking criteria and a blocking threshold into the receiver. The control section causes a comparator to compare the blocking threshold with a counted number of times a local security systems contacted the monitoring receiver. The monitoring receiver blocks the transmissions when the counted number exceeds one of the blocking threshold values. The monitoring receiver generates a list of all local security systems that are being blocked which is stored in memory and transmitted to an automation system or a remote computer.
