Abstract: Differentiated service in a federation-based access network is provided by receiving, with a request for access to a wireless network offering at least a two different service levels based on user identities, a set of user credentials from a User Equipment (UE); forwarding, for authentication, the set of user credentials to an identity provider in an identity federation with the wireless network, wherein the identity provider is independent from the wireless network; in response to determining that the set of user credentials indicate a realm known to be associated with a given service level, providing network access to the UE according to the given service level; and in response to determining that the given service level is not a highest service level in the wireless network, transmitting a list of preferred realms to the UE that are associated with higher service levels than the given service level.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at an access node of a local network, a connection request from a device and in response to the connection request, establishing a connection with an identity provider. The device, the access node, the local network, and the identity provider are members of an identity federation. The method further includes receiving an indication that the device previously violated a network policy of a network different from the local network and after the device is authenticated with the identity provider, determining, by the access node and based on the indication, whether to allow the device to communicate over the access node.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a service associates a plurality of descriptive tags with a node in a network, based on an inspection of packets sent by the node that is performed by one or more sensors deployed to the network. The service identifies, based on the plurality of descriptive tags, data to be extracted from traffic of the node by an edge device located at an edge of the network. The service determines, based on the plurality of descriptive tags, an external destination to which the data should be sent by the edge device after extraction. The service sends a data pipeline configuration to the edge device, wherein the data pipeline configuration causes the edge device to extract the data from the traffic sent by the node and to send the data to the external destination.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, a service identifies a packet sent by a first device in a network to a second device as being of a particular protocol. The service identifies a control command within the packet for the second device, based in part on the particular protocol identified for the packet. The service determines, based on the control command within the packet, a quality of service policy for the packet. The service causes the quality of service policy to be applied to the packet along a path in the network via which the packet is sent from the first device to the second device.

Abstract: Providing for time sensitive networking (TSN) traffic in high density deployments is described. An access point (AP) is a high density deployment receives a message identifying another AP as a TSN neighbor and also detects a TSN device within an area covered by the APs. This arrangement may cause traffic interruptions for the TSN traffic between the TSN device and the APs. In order to prevent disruption in TSN traffic, a TSN time slot and a resource unit (RU) is determined for each of the APs, and the TSN traffic is communicated between the various devices in network according to the determined TSN time slot and RU.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for configuring ultra-wideband (UWB) communications using out-of-band (OOB) mechanisms are described. An example technique performed by a wireless device includes obtaining, prior to association with an access point (AP), ultra-wideband (UWB) information from the AP via an out-of-band (OOB) communication link between the wireless device and the AP. A location server within a network including the wireless device and the AP is determined based on the UWB information. Configuration information associated with a UWB ranging session from the location server is obtained via the OOB communication link. The UWB ranging session is performed in accordance with the configuration information.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for managing a message relaying system are described. One technique includes an access point (AP) detecting a first signal and a second signal from a computing device. A validation of the first signal is performed based on parameters of the first signal and the second signal. After the validation, information associated with the first signal is transmitted to a computing system. In another technique, the computing system may designate one of multiple APs reporting information regarding first signals as a primary reporting AP and designate the remaining APs as secondary reporting APs. The computing system may instruct the secondary reporting APs to refrain from reporting information regarding first signals to the computing system.

Abstract: Techniques for trusted roaming between identity federation based networks. A first wireless access point (AP) receives a roaming request from a wireless station (STA), to roam from the first AP to a second AP. The first AP is associated with a first access network provider (ANP), the second AP is associated with a second ANP, and the first ANP is different from the second ANP. Authentication information relating to the STA is transmitted from the first ANP to the second ANP using a trusted connection. The trusted connection was previously established between the first ANP and the second ANP based on a query to an identity federation to which both the first and second ANP belong. The STA is de-associated from the first AP. The STA is re-associated at the second AP using the transmitted authentication information.

Abstract: Techniques for resource unit (RU) allocation for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a first allocation of scheduled access (SA) and random access (RA) RUs for uplink from one or more wireless stations (STAs) to a wireless access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The techniques further include measuring one or more performance characteristics for the one or more STAs, determining a second allocation of uplink SA and RA RUs in the WLAN based on the measured one or more performance characteristics, and advertising the second allocation of uplink SA and RARUs to the one or more STAs.
