One such solid state memory includes a status register configured to store a plurality of bits indicative of status information of the memory. One such method of providing status information in the memory device includes providing the status information of a memory device in a parallel form. The method also includes providing the status information in a serial form after providing the status information in a parallel form in response to receiving at least one read command.

    摘要: A receiver and tracking system for identifying a location of a magnetic field source. In a preferred embodiment a plurality of tri-axial antennas are positioned at three distinct points on a receiver frame. Each antenna detects a magnetic field from a source and a processor is used to determine a location of the source relative to the frame using the antenna signals. Each tri-axial antenna comprises three windings in each of three channels defined by a support structure. The windings each define an aperture area. The windings have substantially identical aperture areas and have a common center point. The receiver may to display to the operator the relative location of the field source or may direct the operator to a spot directly above the field source.

    摘要: An orthopedic prosthesis for implantation into a bone of a patient includes a porous metal shell adapted to be affixed within the bone. The porous metal shell includes an outer surface adapted to receive bone ingrowth and an inner surface adapted to engage a liner. The porous metal shell is porous from the outer surface to the inner surface. A non-porous member may be affixed to the porous metal shell. The non-porous member may include a piercing member extending from the outer surface, the piercing member adapted to penetrate the bone in an implanted position. The non-porous member may include spikes or fins. In one example, the piercing member may define a reduced material cross section at an interface with the outer surface of the porous metal shell. The piercing member may be adapted to be broken at the reduced material cross section and removed from the porous metal shell.

    摘要: A MEMS based thermoacoustic cryo-cooler for thermal management of cryogenic electronic devices. The cryogenic cooling system can be integrated directly into a cryogenic electronic device. A vertical comb-drive provides an acoustic source through a driving plate to a resonant tube. By exciting a standing wave within the resonant tube, a temperature difference develops across a stack in the tube, thereby enabling heat exchange between heat exchangers. A tapered resonant tube improves the efficiency of the cooling system, compared with a simple cylinder configuration, leading to reduced harmonics and strong standing waves.

    摘要: A network transmitter schedules packets so that packets are transmitted to a host or group of hosts so as not to overload any particular part of the network. In an embodiment, the transmitter uses packet data structures with a schedule indication for packets placed in the queue so that an independently running adaptor may know when to remove packets from the queue and transmit them. In an alternative embodiment, packets are scheduled by setting a future interrupt for transmitting a packet or group of packets. In a further embodiment, packets are placed in temporal sets where a temporal set is a group of packets that can be transmitted in succession without violating the bandwidth limitations of any network segment.

    摘要: Early initiation of transmission of data in a network interface that includes a dedicated transmit buffer is provided in a system which includes logic for transferring frames of data composed by the host computer into the transmit buffer. The amount of data of a frame which is downloaded by the host to the transmit buffer is monitored to make a threshold determination of an amount of data of the frame resident in the transmit data buffer. The network interface controller includes logic for initiating transmission of the frame when the threshold determination indicates that a sufficient portion of the frame is resident in the transmit buffer, and prior to transfer of all of the data of the frame into the transmit buffer. The monitoring logic includes a threshold store, which is programmable by the host computer for storing a threshold value. Thus, the threshold value may be set by the host system to optimize performance in a given setting.
