Abstract:
The invention relates to a box carrier having a contact surface for transporting flat cutouts, or sleeves, and folding boxes produced from the same. According to the invention at least one suction opening, which can be connected to a vacuum source, is disposed in the contact surface.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, an electronic device comprises control circuitry. The control circuitry disables termination circuitry coupled to one or more input/output (I/O) signals of the electronic device during at least a portion of a relatively low frequency operation which causes insubstantial signal reflections at the I/O signals. The control circuitry re-enables the termination circuitry prior to the electronic device performing a relatively high frequency operation after completion of the low frequency operation, the high frequency operation causing substantial signal reflections at the I/O signals. The electronic device is a memory device in one embodiment. This way, the termination circuitry may be disabled during at least a portion of a refresh operation performed by the memory device and re-enabled prior to the memory device resuming normal operation (i.e., reads and writes) after completion of the refresh operation.
Abstract:
For avoiding a high permanent load of the main and control drives rotatable around the vertical axis for ships for the straight forward sailing by a small and compact course keeping rudder system provided for this purpose, for a propulsion system (10) for ships, in particular for cruise vessels (100) with combined main and control drives (20), in particular with at least one podded propulsor (25; 25′), whereby the drive and at least one propeller (26; 26′) are combined in a rotatable gondel-type unit or gondel-type housing (27) placed outside the proper hull (110) in the stern area (115), at least one course keeping rudder system (30; 30′) is placed outside the swivelling range of the podded propulsor (25) or of the podded propulsors (25; 25′) in the stern area (115) of the hull (110) as an independent, separate, small and preferably electrohydraulically driven rudder configured with a flow favourable profile which makes available only the steering moments necessary for the ship during the straight forward travelling, preferably under course control operation (or autopilot operation), the main and control drives being unused during the straight forward travelling, no longer used and remaining in inoperative position.
Abstract:
An apparatus for charging containers includes a first conveyor for advancing items; a second conveyor for continuously advancing containers; a charging device including first and second chutes each having an inlet adjoining the discharge end of the first conveyor and an outlet positioned above the second conveyor. The first and second chutes adjoin one another in a direction parallel to the conveying direction of the second conveyor. A drive shifts the charging device and the discharge end of the first conveyor relative to one another for selectively aligning the inlet of the first chute or the inlet of the second chute with the discharge end for selectively introducing items from the first conveyor into the first or second chute. A sensor detects items advanced on the first conveyor. A control device is connected to the sensor and the drive for operating the drive based on the sensor signals.
Abstract:
Devices for the digital recording and reproduction of speech signals are used, for example in answering apparatus. In order to reduce the quantity of data to be stored without noticeably affecting the acoustic quality of the speech, it is proposed to encode speech signals by means of a residual signal speech encoder.
Abstract:
A combination device for wireless video monitoring and remote control of a still camera is disclosed. In operation, the device includes a television camera that is positioned so as to photograph through the view finder of a camera. The image photographed is transmitted electronically to a video receiving means located at a remote distance from the camera. The camera lens and the means for vertical and horizontal positioning of the still camera are connected by servo motor means to a means for receiving control signals. The control signals control the focusing of the lens and horizontal or vertical position of the camera. A transmitting device located at the site of the video receiving means, transmits control signals for directing the servo motor means to move the camera's lens or change the camera's position.
Abstract:
Continuously cast thin slab ingots are coiled, cut, uncoiled and rolled down to thin strip material. For a single casting line a single back and forth rolling stand is used; multiple continuous casting lines can service a single unidirectional rolling mill. The rolling temperature is attained by heat retention in the coils.
Abstract:
A belt, configured as a conveyor belt or drive belt, includes at least one traction member having an outer side. The traction member includes at least one of a renewable raw material or a biologically degradable raw material. A coating is disposed on the outer side of the at least one traction member and includes at least one of a renewable raw material, a biologically degradable raw material, or a synthetically produced and biologically degradable raw material.
